Many NBA teams played their regular-season opener Wednesday night, but that’s no excuse for horrendous and sloppy basketball to the degree we saw in a 16-second span from the Indiana Pacers and Dallas Mavericks.

The teams exchanged poor passes and turnovers until Mavs forward Dirk Nowitzki ended the sequence with a pass out of bounds that wasn’t anywhere near one of his teammates.

The Pacers eventually won 130-121 by outscoring the Mavericks 15-6 in overtime, but there’s plenty of improvement to be made for both sides after combining for 31 turnovers.
