FOXBORO, Mass. — All eyes are on quarterback Tom Brady this week, but the New England Patriots had another new face in the locker room Wednesday.

The Patriots signed guard Chase Farris to the practice squad, and based on practice attendance, it appear the team released linebacker Quentin Gause to make room for Farris.

Farris went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Ohio State but latched on with the Detroit Lions as a rookie free agent. The Lions released him from their practice squad on Sept. 21.

Farris played offensive and defensive line at Ohio State. The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder ran a 5.26-second 40-yard dash at his pro day in March with a 7.88-second 3-cone, 4.88-second short shuttle, 8-foot, 6-inch broad jump, 26.5-inch vertical leap and 22 bench press reps of 225 pounds.

Gause, a Rutgers product, signed to the Patriots’ practice squad on Sept. 7.

With injuries to defensive tackle Vincent Valentine and running back Brandon Bolden, the Patriots could see more movement on their practice squad before the week is up.

Here’s the Patriots’ updated practice squad:
