Red Sox’s Loss Means ALDS Game 1 Vs. Indians Will Be In Cleveland, Not Boston

The Boston Red Sox are hitting the road.

The Red Sox’s 2-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, coupled with the Indians’ win over the Kansas City Royals, means Cleveland will have home-field advantage for its American League Division Series matchup with Boston.

Had Boston won Sunday, Cleveland would have been forced to play a makeup game against the Detroit Tigers on Monday to determine home-field advantage for the ALDS.

The Red Sox-Indians ALDS will start Thursday with Game 1, followed by Game 2 on Friday, Game 3 next Sunday, Game 4 on Monday, Oct. 10 (if necessary) and Game 5 on Wednesday, Oct. 12 (if necessary). All games will air on TBS at times to be determined.

Rick Porcello will start for the Red Sox in Game 1, followed by David Price in Game 2. The Indians already have announced their entire rotation for the series.
