The New England Patriots reportedly brought in All-Pro fullback Marcel Reece for a workout just four days after the Oakland Raiders released him.

The Patriots worked out Reece, guardsĀ Jake Bernstein and Chase Farris, center Robert Kugler and tight end Greg Scruggs, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Friday. The Patriots signed Scruggs on Saturday.

Reece came off a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy and subsequently was released Sept. 26. The 6-foot-1, 250-pound fullback has 183 career carries for 844 yards with three touchdowns and 205 career catches for 2,015 yards with 12 scores. He was named to four Pro Bowls from 2012 to 2015, and he earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2013.

Reece went undrafted out of Washington in 2008. He played wide receiver with the Huskies before converting to fullback in the NFL. The Patriots have James Develin at fullback, and they signed rookie Glenn Gronkowski to their practice squad Saturday.
