Stephen A. Smith Wants To Take Down President Obama In A ‘Sports Debate’

Stephen A. Smith has no problem calling out anyone and everyone, but he got extra ambitious Saturday.

The ESPN television personality and “First Take” commentator, known for his piping hot takes and unlimited bravado, challenged none other than the leader of the free world to an old fashioned sports debate.

Smith reverted to some middle school persuasive tactics by calling President Barack Obama “scared” to debate him on his show. But the “First Take” analyst shouldn’t take Obama lightly, as our current president is a die-hard sports fan who hasn’t been afraid to dispense his own hot takes.

We’re not sure exactly what topics they’d discuss in a “sports debate” — might we suggest Tom Brady and the New England Patriots as a starting point? — but it’s still no guarantee this battle of wits goes down: When Smith tried to get Curt Schilling on his show back in May, the former Boston Red Sox pitcher shot him down and called him “racist.”
