FOXBORO, Mass. — Tom Brady was fine with talking about football Wednesday in his weekly news conference at Gillette Stadium, but when the topic turned to politics, the New England Patriots quarterback walked off the podium.

The question, posed by NECN reporter Jonathan Choe, was set to be the final question of Brady’s media availability anyway.

Here’s what transpired.

Q: Tom, you have kids of your own. How would you respond if your kids heard Donald Trump’s version of “locker room talk”?

TB: Thank you, guys.

Brady said last September that it “would be great” if Trump became president, and one of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hats was spotted in the QB’s locker last year. Brady also has called Trump “a good friend.”

That all was before recordings of Trump making extremely lewd remarks about women were released over the weekend. Brady said on WEEI’s “Kirk & Callahan” radio show Monday morning that he doesn’t think he has spoken to Trump over the last month.
