With the way Madison Bumgarner and Noah Syndergaard pitched in Wednesday’s National League Wild Card Game, it looked like one run might be enough to send either the San Francisco Giants or New York Mets to the NL Division Series.

But Curtis Granderson made sure that didn’t happen on his watch.

With two outs and a runner on second in the top of the sixth inning, Giants first baseman Brandon Belt hit a fly ball that had RBI written all over it to center field, but Granderson was there to make a spectacular catch before running into the wall to prevent the run from scoring.

Unfortunately for Granderson and the Mets, that catch just delayed the inevitable. The Giants won the game 3-0 on a three-run home run from Conor Gillaspie in the ninth inning that no one was able to catch.
