Anthony Rizzo already shed real tears. On Tuesday, he shed digital tears.
Rizzo broke down with emotion last week at the Cubs’ World Series celebration while introducing his retiring teammate, catcher David Ross, after the club’s parade through the streets of Chicago. The Cubs first baseman spoke of how much Ross meant to him, both on the field and off the field.
Ross, who was well respected during his 15-year big league career, tweeted the following photo Tuesday thanking Major League Baseball for an amazing journey that saw him win two World Series titles:
Rizzo couldn’t help but chime in, so he very appropriately tossed some crying emojis Ross’ way.
Incredible. Just like the Cubs’ season.
