The Boston Celtics threw just about everything they had at the San Antonio Spurs through 36 minutes Friday, and it very nearly was enough. But 36 minutes of high-quality play simply isn’t enough against the NBA’s elite teams.
The Spurs’ clutch gene and the Celtics’ rebounding woes both were on full display in the fourth quarter, as San Antonio scored 34 points in the final 12 minutes en route to a 109-103 victory at TD Garden.
