Cubs Fans Outside Wrigley Field Reacting To World Series Win Is Spine-Tingling

The Chicago Cubs are World Series champions.

That statement hadn’t been true for 108 years until Wednesday night, when the Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians in an incredible Game 7. But there was plenty of drama involved in the seesaw, extra-innings affair, and a massive crowd of Cubs fans gathered outside Wrigley Field to ride the emotional roller coaster.

The Cubs faithful had only their phones and Wrigley’s iconic scoreboard to tell them what happened as they stood in the street, which made things especially nerve-wracking. But it also made things that much sweeter when Kris Bryant threw to first base in the 10th inning for the final out.

Here’s how Wrigleyville reacted in real time to that play:

Those watching on their phones erupted as Bryant and the Cubs recorded the final out, and everyone else went nuts as “Cubs Win!” flashed across the scoreboard.

If you’re a Cubs fan — or a fan of sports in general, for that matter — it doesn’t get much better than that.
