It’s official: Dion Lewis will make his 2016 season debut Sunday afternoon at Levi’s Stadium.

After sitting out the New England Patriots’ first nine games following multiple knee surgeries, Lewis will be active for New England’s Week 11 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, the team announced Sunday.

The running back has not played since tearing his ACL in Week 9 of last season. He was added to the active roster last weekend but was inactive for last Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

The Patriots’ inactives for Sunday are as follows: tight end Rob Gronkowski, wide receiver Chris Hogan, defensive end Jabaal Sheard, running back D.J. Foster, offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle, defensive lineman Woodrow Hamilton and cornerback Justin Coleman.

Linebacker Kyle Van Noy and tight end Matt Lengel are active and set to make their Patriots debuts, and cornerback Eric Rowe returns to the lineup after being a healthy scratch against Seattle.

Rowe, Coleman and Logan Ryan have spent much of the season jockeying for playing time behind top corner Malcolm Butler, and rookie Cyrus Jones could factor into the situation Sunday, as well, after playing exclusively on special teams against the Seahawks.
