Linda McMahon’s ties to Donald Trump could take her to Washington, D.C. at long last.

The WWE CEO is under consideration for the U.S. Secretary of Commerce positionĀ in the Trump administration, NBC Connecticut reported Sunday, citing sources close to McMahon and Trump’s transition team.

McMahon lost races for Connecticut’s seats in the the U.S. Senate in 2010 and 2012 but has remained politically active since then. She supported top trump surrogate Chris Christie’s failed presidential bid and attended the 2016 Republican National Convention in July.

McMahon and her husband Vince have been friendly with Trump for many years, according to NBC Connecticut. Trump is a WWE Hall of Famer and has appeared in several events staged by the McMahons’ company.

If McMahon becomes commerce secretary, she’ll oversee the federal government’s activities geared toward creating jobs and growing the economy.

For now, she must wait for Trump to decide whether to say two words she has waited a long time to hear in politics: “you’re hired.”
