Luke Kuechly Injury: Panthers Star ‘Doing Fine,’ According To Teammate

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera revealed Friday that linebacker Luke Kuechly is in the concussion protocol after being carted off the field in Thursday night’s win over the New Orleans Saints.

That’s about all Rivera would say regarding Kuechly’s injury, but Panthers fans were given an uplifting update earlier in the day when fellow Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis posted a photo on Instagram saying his teammate is “doing fine.”

Kuechly, who suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Carolina’s victory on a helmet-to-helmet hit while tackling New Orleans running back Tim Hightower, was in tears as he exited the field. The 25-year-old missed three games last season after suffering a concussion in the Panthers’ opener, so the possibility of another concussion is concerning for one of the NFL’s brightest young stars.
