NFL SuperContest Week 10 Picks: Locks Include Falcons, Saints, Packers

There’s no shortage of good matchups in the NFL this weekend, as evidenced by the fact that 11 games feature spreads of less than a touchdown, including a pair of pick ’em games.

While that might be welcomed news for football fans looking forward to Sunday, it makes life in the Westgate SuperContest a little difficult.

Luckily for NESN.com’s Mike Cole and Ricky Doyle — as well as the rest of the teams representing Team OddsShark in the SuperContest — they only need to make five picks. Mike and Ricky are hoping to keep their momentum going in an attempt to stay with the pack in the OddsShark standings.

Here are their Week 10 picks.

Kansas City Chiefs (+3) vs. Carolina Panthers, Sunday, 1 p.m. ET
Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte

Bet you didn’t know the Chiefs are 6-2. All Kansas City does is win (in the regular season, at least), and we don’t see that changing this week in a matchup pitting the team with the NFL’s best turnover margin (KC) against the 28th-ranked turnover team — especially if Justin Houston plays and looks anywhere close to his normal self.

New Orleans Saints (-2.5) vs. Denver Broncos, Sunday, 1 p.m.
Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans

It’s pretty incredible that Vegas basically is saying these two teams are equal given how both started the season. The Saints are on a bit of a roll, and their 6.1 yards per play are fourth in the NFL. The Denver defense, when healthy, could match up with the Saints, but Denver is limping to its Week 11 bye week and could have problems matching points with Drew Brees and Co.

Atlanta Falcons (PK) vs. Philadelphia Eagles, Sunday, 1 p.m.
Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia

Carson Wentz and the Eagles started the season fast but have slowed as the competition got better and the game tape on them increased. The Falcons, meanwhile, continue to put up points, and there’s too much talent for the Eagles to keep pace.

Los Angeles Rams (+1.5) vs. New York Jets, Sunday, 1 p.m.
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, N.J.

When you’ve got two bad teams, it’s usually smart to take the points. Other than that, we’ve got nothing. Not really sure why we’re taking the Rams, but here we are. Plus, this stuff is hard, man.

Green Bay Packers (-2.5) vs. Tennessee Titans, Sunday, 1 p.m.
Nissan Stadium, Nashville

Aaron Rodgers sounds like he’s about had enough of this losing thing. That probably means one of two things: Either the Packers, especially Rodgers, come up playing fired-up, inspired football. Or, this thing goes sideways and they crash and burn. For this week, at least, we’re betting on the former.
