New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn’t at his best Sunday against the New York Jets, but he was good enough to propel his team to a comeback win on the road against a hated rival.

Despite being bothered by a knee ailmentĀ that landed him on the injury report as questionable entering Week 12, Brady completed 30 of 50 pass attempts for 286 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions versus the Jets. His late fourth-quarter touchdown pass to rookie wideout Malcolm Mitchell sealed a 22-17 win.

So, how is Brady feeling a day later? He provided an update during his weekly appearance on Westwood One radio with host Jim Gray.

“I expect it to heal,” Brady said Monday night. “I’m a pretty fast healer. I hope I don’t haveĀ to deal with it much longer. I might be the fastest 39-year-old healer you know.”

Brady wasn’t able to participate in his normal amount of practice last week, and it showed on the field. But the Jets’ defense usually gives the Patriots trouble regardless of the situation.

“I felt pretty prepared. … I wish I could go out there and practice because I think you make a lot of improvements in practice,” Brady said.

“We were pretty close on a lot of plays out there. Our execution wasn’t as great as it needed to be, but it got better as the game went on. That’s a good defense. They (have) a lot of really good defensive players. And one thing about the Jets is they always make you earn it.”

The Patriots host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13, anotherĀ team with a quality defense that includes a physical front seven.
