Chivas Guadalajara and Club America just can’t seem to avoid each other.
Mexican soccer’s two biggest teams will meet Sunday at Chivas’ Estadio Omnilife in the second leg of their Liga MX Liguilla (Mexican league playoffs) quarterfinal series. The teams drew 1-1 on Thursday in Mexico City, and Chivas will advance to the semifinals with a win or 1-1 or 0-0 draws.
Doing so would ruin Club America’s centenary season, one in which it will have played its bitter rival Chivas seven times in all competitions.
