Tim Tebow — the miracle worker — is back.

The former NFL quarterback had plenty of late-game heroics during his pro football career and on Monday he delivered his first clutch moment on the diamond. Tebow laced an opposite field walk-off single as his Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Mesa Solar Sox in an Arizona Fall League game.

If it’s one thing we learned about Tebow during his football career, it’s that even though he put up awful stats, he never feared of the big moments. Of his nine career regular-season and postseason wins, eight came on game-winning drives.

“Those are the situations you love; I mean, that’s fun,” Tebow said after the game, per the the New York Daily News. “A lot of pressure, but they’re fun moments.”

Tebow also said he discussed his approach at the plate with baseball legend Reggie Jackson prior to the game.

“The whole day they had been throwing me outside fastballs and they had the shift on a little bit, and Mr. Jackson was just talking about letting it get deep and going with it,” Tebow said. “So first pitch, (I) tried to let it get deep and hit it opposite way, especially when they play you for a pull.”

It should also be noted that Tebow’s base hit came against Drew Steckenrider, a Triple-A pitcher in the Miami Marlins system. Despite the big hit, Tebow is still hitting just .146 with two RBI in the Arizona Fall League.
