Goldberg shocked the WWE Universe in his return Sunday night at Survivor Series, but could his dominant showing over Brock Lesnar be the beginning of more than just a “one-and-done” final match?

All along, the two-time world champion has said this will be the one and only match of his return, and no one would blame him for sticking to that claim and leaving on such a high note.

But according to one report, this won’t be the last we see of Goldberg in a WWE ring.

Warning: Though only rumors, there are potential WWE spoilers ahead.

Goldberg reportedly has signed a contract to appear at Royal Rumble in January, sources told Pro Wrestling Sheet. The Royal Rumble is one of WWE’s four main pay-per-view events of the year, and the winner of the Royal Rumble traditionally receives a world title match that often takes place at WrestleMania.

The contract reportedly was signed last week leading up to Survivor Series, which influenced the way the match was booked, according to Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer. Brock Lesnar reportedly saw a feud with Goldberg as a money-making opportunity, per the report — something WWE chairman Vince McMahon reportedly agreed with. Once Goldberg signed, it was determined he would defeat Lesnar in dominant fashion to fuel the upcoming feud.

Could this feud lead Lesnar and Goldberg to WrestleMania 33 in Orlando next year? Fans can only hope.
