Donald Trump Taps Linda McMahon To Lead Small Business Administration

While some prominent sports figures are choosing not to stay in president-elect Donald Trump’s hotels, others will help run his administration.

The president-elect added a new member to his team Wednesday, and you might recognize her from her days of receiving Steve Austin’s “Stone Cold Stunner’ move in the WWE ring. That’s right, Linda McMahon, wife of World Wrestling Entertainment owner Vince McMahon and co-founder of the organization, has been chosen by Trump to head the Small Business Administration.

McMahon backed Trump’s presidential campaign, donating $6.5 million to support his quest for the White House. The two have been business partners dating back to the 1980s when Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, N.J., hosted WrestleMania.

“Linda has a tremendous background and is widely recognized as one of the country’s top female executives advising businesses around the globe,” Trump said in a statement, per the Washington Post.

McMahon, who twice ran unsuccessfully for a Senate seat in Connecticut, must be confirmed by the Senate before she takes over a role, in which she will advocate on behalf of small businesses with banks and credit unions.

After hosting WrestleMania in the 80s, Trump returned to the ring in 2007 when he and Vince McMahon faced off in WrestleMania 23’s “Battle of the Billionaires” that ended in Trump body-slamming McMahon and then shaving his head.

Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall fo Fame in 2013.
