Jae Crowder’s layup at the end of Friday night’s Boston Celtics game earned an assist for Isaiah Thomas — and Tom Brady?
Late in the fourth quarter of Boston’s eventual 96-88 win over the Charlotte Hornets, Thomas found himself trapped in a double team behind halfcourt. But rather than take the sack commit a turnover, the 5-foot-9 point guard pulled off a mini-miracle, flinging the ball about 60 feet through the air and right into the hands of Crowder for the easy touchdown layup.
So, how was Thomas able to deliver such a perfect pass? Apparently a certain New England Patriots quarterback taught him everything he knows.
Brady and Thomas, if you’ll recall, met this summer in the Hamptons while Boston was recruiting Kevin Durant, so maybe TB12 gave him a few pointers about throwing long passes.
This dime was one of Thomas’ five assists on the night, as the All-Star point guard led all scorers with 26 points in his first game back from a groin injury.
