Another big-name Major League Baseball free agent reportedly is off the market.

The Houston Astros have agreed to terms on a one-year, $16 million contract with Carlos Beltran, FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reported Saturday. ESPN’s Buster Olney was the first to report the agreement, which reportedly also includes a full no-trade clause.

Beltran was high on the list of several teams, including the Boston Red Sox, who need someone to fill the massive hole left by David Ortiz at designated hitter.

The 39-year-old outfielder and DH began last season with the New York Yankees before getting traded to the Texas Rangers on Aug. 1. He put together a pretty solid campaign, batting .295 with 29 home runs and 93 RBIs.

The Astros could have a formidable lineup with Beltran in the fold.

With Beltran reportedly off the board, there aren’t many high-end designated hitters available in free agency outside Edwin Encarnacion, who reportedly is seeking a long-term deal.
