With rumors of the San Diego Chargers relocating to Los Angeles running rampant, it appears the team is already planning ahead.

According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Los Angeles Daily News, the team is considering rebranding if they do indeed move to L.A. in hopes of starting with a clean slate and creating a new history.

While these plans are of course preemptive, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reports that Chargers president Dean Spanos has seemingly run out of options in trying to keep the team in San Diego.

“He doesn’t have a choice from an economic standpoint, and he knows it,” a source close to Spanos told La Canfora. “He’s as good as gone. He basically told us that he has no choice.”

Bonsignore also reported that it would take a “miracle” for the team to stay in San Diego, according to an NFL executive.

Judging by these two reports, it’s looking like Los Angeles could be adding another NFL team in the near future.
