Watch Dwight Howard Attempt To Play Point Guard, With Laughable Results

Maybe Dwight Howard watched film of Giannis Antetokounmpo before Wednesday’s game. Or maybe he was tired of camping out in the post every possession.

We don’t know exactly what inspired the Atlanta Hawks center to channel his inner point guard against the Phoenix Suns, but we do know this: It wasn’t pretty.

Early in the first quarter, Howard corralled a rebound and took it upon himself to lead the fast break. After lumbering past half court, the 6-foot-11 big man then unleashed one of the worst passes we’ve ever seen.

Howard’s pass slammed off the backboard so hard that it led to a Phoenix 2-on-1 in the other direction. And maybe the 30-year-old should take notes from Tyson Chandler, who caught the errant pass and immediately flipped it to the more qualified Devin Booker to run the break.

But it appears Howard learned his lesson because he found a more comfortable role on the Hawks’ fast break later in the game.

The Hawks went on to lose 109-107, thus (hopefully) ending the great Dwight Howard Point Guard Experiment.
