Honda Reveals New Concept Vehicles, Including Car That Makes You Money

A car is a major purchase for most consumers. But Honda’s newest concept would help its owners recoup some of their investment.

Honda showed off some amazing technology at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show, including the NeuV — short for New Electric Urban Vehicle — which is fitted with artificial intelligence.

Currently, private transport is unused for roughly 96 percent of the day. The NeuV uses AI — a technology that seems to be gaining popularity — to operate as an autonomous ride-hailing vehicle while it’s owner isn’t using it.

The idea is similar in nature to the Tesla Network, only the NeuV can earn its owner money in more ways than ride-hailing. It can also sell energy back to the electric grid during peak hours.

Honda wasn’t a one-trick pony at CES, though, as it also debuted its self-balancing Riding Assist motorcycle.

But don’t think the Riding Assist is just a copy of BMW Motorrad’s Vision Next 100 concept. The Japanese manufacturer made sure to stress its bike uses different technology to reduce the possibility of tipping over.

“Rather than relying on gyroscopes, which add a great deal of weight and alter the riding experience as announced by other companies, the Honda Riding Assist motorcycle incorporates technology originally developed for the company’s UNI-CUB personal mobility device,” Honda said in a statement.

Honda was rather diplomatic in its word choice, but we all know what “other companies” it was referring to.
