NFL Scouting Combine 2017: Quarterback, Wide Receiver Drill Results

3:58 p.m.: The official 40 times are in, and only four wide receivers ran faster than Evan Engram, who posted a 4.42-second 40-yard dash.

Here are Saturday’s standouts from the combine. We’re still waiting for agility results from running backs, wide receivers, tight ends and quarterbacks.

It was a notable day at the combine with John Ross setting the 40-yard dash record. We also saw perhaps the most athletic tight end group in combine history.

9 a.m. ET: Day 2 of 2017 NFL Scouting Combine drills start at 9 a.m., and we bear good news: You don’t need to sit through 300-pound offensive linemen running 40-yard dashes today.

Quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends compete Saturday.

The top quarterback prospects today are North Carolina’s Mitchell (not Mitch) Trubisky, Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson. The top wide receivers are Clemson’s Mike Williams, Western Michigan’s Corey Davis and Washington’s John Ross, who might be the fastest player at the combine. The top tight ends are Alabama’s O.J. Howard, Miami’s David Njoku and Ole Miss’ Evan Engram.

The Patriots should be looking for a tight end and slot receiver in this year’s NFL draft.
