As the rule stands, pitchers are not charged with an earned run if the run is the product of an error in the field.

If the run scored because of a fielding miscue, or the runner who scored reached base on an error, then the run is not charged to the pitcher.

But, some baseball fans think that if a pitcher commits the error then it should affect the pitcher’s ERA.

This week in the Dunkin’ Donuts poll, NESN asked fans should an error by the pitcher that leads to runs affect the pitcher’s ERA?

Check out their answer from the Dunkin’ Poll in the video above.
