The Odell Beckham Jr. trade rumors are beginning to swirl.

While the New York Giants publically have stated their desire to keep the star wide receiver, it appears that might be more of a public show than how the franchise actually feels.

Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman reported Wednesday, citing sources, that New York isn’t as “definitive” about keeping Beckham, and the Giants “definitely are open for business.”

Beckham Jr. reportedly doesn’t plan to step on the field in 2018 unless he gets the new contract he so desperately covets, which has fueled the reports that the LSU product could be traded.

New York’s reported asking price is two first-round draft picks. That might seem high to acquire a receiver in Beckham Jr., who while talented, comes with some off-field drama and will require a hefty financial commitment. But that apparently isn’t the case.

Freeman also reported that “the league views Beckham far differently than the Giants do. Other teams see him as worth the trouble. In fact, they don’t see Beckham as much trouble at all.” He also noted that he believes a number of NFL teams would be willing to pay the price, both in picks and salary, to acquire one of the best receivers in the league.

It certainly seems like Beckham could be suiting up in a new city when the 2018 season rolls around.
