Adam Butler will have the chance to continue to grow in New England.
The Patriots announced Friday they re-signed the defensive lineman, while the terms of the contract were not included. The Patriots had tendered Butler, a restricted free agent, at the second-round level last month and since have negotiated new terms with the 26 year old.
ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Friday that Butler signed his free agent tender worth $3.26 million.
Butler played all 16 of the Patriots’ regular-season games in 2019 with two starts. He set career highs in sacks (six), tackles (26), tackles for loss (eight), quarterback hits (one) and pass deflections (five) during the campaign.
Butler joined the Patriots in 2017 as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt. He has since developed into a valuable contributor to New England’s defense.
