If you’re an NFL quarterback, you’d better be driving a conversion van this season.
Chicago Bears signal-caller Jay Cutler made the bold statement first, arriving to training camp in a humongous white van and making it very clear to reporters that it is not a mini-van.

The trend is catching on, though, as Washington Redskins backup quarterback Kirk Cousins recently revealed that he’s sporting the same roomy ride. According to The Washington Post, Cousins had always been a fan of his grandparents’ conversion van, and when his grandfather passed away during the offseason, his grandmother no longer had a need for the vehicle, so he bought it from her.
“So I said why don’t I buy it off you?” Cousins recalled, via The Washington Post. “It’ll serve us well, because my wife and I each have a car, but then when people come into town it’ll kind of be a third car. And it’s perfect for driving the hour-and-a-half from Ashburn to the games. And then they can tailgate, and they’ve got a TV in there, and you can kind of carry luggage in there. So it works well when visitors come to town for games, and Julie and I will take it on road trips in the offseason.”

Cousins’ teammates haven’t yet seen the beauty, but he’s expecting some laughs when he rolls up to Washington’s practice facility in his van that “comfortably seats seven.”
“Wait until I roll into the facility when we get back to Ashburn,” Cousins said. “That’ll be fun. I think my teammates will laugh a little bit.”
