Patriots Injury Report: Shane Vereen (Illness) Questionable Vs. Bears

NFL: Preseason-Carolina Panthers at New England PatriotsFOXBORO, Mass. — Shane Vereen’s mysterious absence from New England Patriots practice has been explained.

The Patriots running back missed Friday’s session with an illness. He’s questionable to play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Defensive end Chandler Jones (hip) is the lone Patriots player ruled out after he didn’t practice this week.

Offensive linemen Dan Connolly (concussion), Bryan Stork (concussion) and Cameron Fleming (finger), safety Nate Ebner (finger), defensive lineman Dominique Easley (shoulder/knee) and wide receiver Matthew Slater (shoulder) also are questionable.

Quarterback Tom Brady (ankle), cornerback Brandon Browner (ankle), safety Devin McCourty (rib), and linebackers Jamie Collins (thigh) and Dont’a Hightower (knee) are listed as probable.
