Julian Edelman: ‘I’ll Lose My Job’ If Patriots Find Better Or Cheaper Receiver

Julian Edelman has been with the New England Patriots long enough to know how Bill Belichick runs the ship.

The Patriots locked up Edelman to a four-year, $17 million contract last offseason, but despite his job security, he knows that loyalty only goes so far in New England.

“If there’s someone out there who’s better or cheaper or something like that, I’ll lose my job,” Edelman told Maxim.

The feature highlights how Edelman is preparing for the future while maintaining his focus on football. The Patriots receiver took advantage of his sudden celebrity after the Super Bowl by appearing on “Live with Kelly and Michael” and “Late Night With Seth Meyers”.

“It’s a temp job,” Edelman said. “With Mr. (Michael) Strahan, you see how he seized opportunities. I guarantee he worked his ass off to get where he’s at and do what he’s doing right now. You look at that and you have nothing but respect.”
