NESN.com staff will pick the two or three best Amica Coverage Plays of the previous week for games played from Friday night to Thursday night. Voting will begin every Friday morning and conclude on Monday.

The Bruins came from behind to tie the game in thrilling fashion on Sunday night against the Senators.

The B’s scored two goals within 18 seconds of one another — one with four seconds left in the second period and one in the opening second of the third period — to give them a shot at the win. The Bruins went on to lose 3-2, but heads up play by Dennis Seidenberg was crucial in using the team’s momentum to net the second goal and keep them in the game.

Bruins’ Heads-Up Transition Play Leads to Andrew Ference Goal (Video)

The Bruins may have dropped a 3-2 overtime decision to the Capitals on Saturday night, but the team’s alert and quick transition play was something to be proud of.

Andrew Ference scored the second goal of the night for the B’s, putting them up 2-0 in the first period. Coming out of their defensive zone, Rich Peverley gives Milan Lucic a perfectly-timed pass, and Lucic carries it up through the neutral zone with speed, passes it to Ference on the wing and Ference gets the quick shot off.

Dennis Seidenberg Threads Slapshot Past Anders Lindback for Eventual Game-Winner (Video)

The Bruins wanted to pick up a win against Tampa Bay on Thursday, but more importantly, they needed to come out with a sense of urgency. Boston succeeded on both fronts, dominating from whistle to whistle in a 2-0 victory at TD Garden.

The first of those two goals came off the stick of defenseman Dennis Seidenberg. Brad Marchand took the puck from the left boards to the right face-off circle upon entering the Tampa zone, drawing the Lightning defenders out of position and opening a lane for Seidenberg, who fired a slapshot past goalie Anders Lindback.

Flyers Capitalize on Bruins Turnover, Leave B’s Limping Toward Playoffs (Video)

I’ts hard to win a game when you give the puck away 16 times.

Philadelphia Flyers winger Scott Hartnell took advantage of a miscue by Boston’s defense and was able to convert the play to a goal. After a solid check on the boards, Hartnell keeps the play alive in front of the Flyers’ net. Then the Bruins attempt to clear the puck out up the center of the ice, but Hartnell corrals the puck and takes an open shot on Tuukka Rask, putting the Flyers up 1-0 early in the game.

Jaromir Jagr Jump-Starts Bruins Offense With Roof Shot (Video)

There wasn’t much Jacob Markstrom could do about this one.

Jaromir Jagr scored Boston’s first goal of the day on Sunday afternoon when he roofed one past the Panthers’ goalie. The Bruins scored one goal in each period in the 3-0 win over the Florida Panthers, and Jagr’s goal was a catalyst.

With the win, the B’s recaptured the second spot in the Eastern Conference.

Brad Marchand, Zdeno Chara Put Bruins Ahead Early With Help from Jaromir Jagr (Video)

The Bruins got ahead early on Saturday afternoon, but couldn’t hold the lead against the mighty Penguins.

Brad Marchand got the Bruins off to a 1-0 lead off an assist from Zdeno Chara. Tuukka Rask also got credited with an assist on the goal.

Jaromir Jagr deserves credit as well, as he took the Penguin defenders’ attention off Marchand and opened up lane for the Boston left wing.

Bruins’ Offense Capitalizes on Size, Strength as Milan Lucic Puts B’s on Board First

The Bruins heated things up on offense against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, scoring first during the first period.

Matt Bartkowski was credited with an assist after solid big-body plays by Jaromir Jagr and Milan Lucic presented an opportunity. Bartkowski ripped a shot on goal that was deflected by Lucic into the net to put the Bruins on the board first.

Tyler Seguin’s Power-Play Goal in Second Period Acts as Bruins’ Lone Tally in 2-1 Loss (Video)

Offense was at a bit of a premium for the Bruins on Thursday. Boston put up 30 shots, but only one got by Evgeni Nabokov. The goal, scored by Tyler Seguin on the power play, was set up beautifully by Jaromir Jagr and Gregory Campbell.

Jagr did a phenomenal job of protecting the puck and moving it down to the goal line for Campbell. Soupy then fed it across the slot to Seguin, where the winger ripped the shot past Nabokov.

In just one week with the Bruins, there is no doubt that Jagr is making a difference on the once-stagnant Boston power play.

Rich Peverley’s First Period Goal Marks Beginning of Big Offensive Night for Bruins (Video)

The offensive wheels were chugging for the Bruins on Monday night in their 6-2 romp of Carolina. Forward Rich Peverley got the Bruins started in the first period with his wraparound goal.

Peverley took advantage of some sloppy Hurricanes neutral-zone play and used his speed to break in on net. Although he was initially stopped, Peverley took the rebound and wrapped past goaltender Justin Peters to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead. It got the offensive juices flowing in what turned out to be a fun night at TD Garden.

Dennis Seidenberg Tips in Own Goal After Bruins Get Caught Out of Position (Video)

The Bruins found themselves on the trailing end of a 2-1 game Saturday night against the Canadiens. The goal that sealed their fate was actually tipped into the net over Tuukka Rask’s shoulder by the Bruins’ own Dennis Seidenberg.

Early in the second period, the Canadiens gathered a dump pass in the B’s defensive zone, and all four Bruins found themselves down too close to the baseline. The gaps in defense left the space in front of the net wide open.

Canadiens defensemen P.K. Subban had enough space to rip a shot toward the goal, and after redirections by Michael Ryder and Seidenberg, Rask had no chance at saving the shot.

Jaromir Jagr’s Presence Immediately Felt, As He Spends Full Two Minutes on Bruins Power Play (Video)

The buzz around Jaromir Jagr continues to grow around Boston, especially after a goal in his debut Thursday night.

However, Jagr’s immediate presence was felt thanks to his help on the struggling Bruins power play. Jagr’s vision allowed the Bruins to set up shop low in the zone and get good movement to the point. This set up a couple of good chances for David Krejci and Jagr during Boston’s lone man-advantage of the night. Clearly, Jagr has brought some energy to Boston’s special teams.

Nathan Horton Extends Goal Streak to Four Games With Game-Winner Against Senators (Video)

Nathan Horton has been on fire this past week.

The Bruins winger beat Senators goalie Robin Lehner in the third period Tuesday night for his fourth goal in as many games, and this one gave the B’s a wild victory at TD Garden. The teams combined for 97 shots in the contest, but the goaltending was stout, allowing just five of those shots to find the back of the net.
