Saturday was the final home game of the regular season for the Bruins, and the tradition of giving away jerseys continued as the B's literally gave fans the shirts off their backs. Whoever got Nathan Horton's sweater may want to give it a quick wash.

That's because Horton engaged in a long, spirited duel with Zach Smith in a 3-1 Bruins win over the Senators on Saturday afternoon at the Garden.

Part of what added to the Saturday evening tilt was, well, a couple of tilts.

The hard-hitting affair featured a couple of bouts, with Andrew Ference and Mark Stuart dropping the gloves and fighting for the Bruins in the losing effort.

Between the early start at Fenway Park between the Red Sox and Rays and the Bruins-Sabres playoff game later that night at the TD Garden, it was already a busy sports weekday. But with over 26,000 runners descending on the Hub to compete in the 114th running of the Boston Marathon, Monday was a special day in our fair city.

But despite their struggles to score goals, their problems on the power play and a general lack of consistency up and down the roster, the black and gold are still headed for the Stanley Cup playoffs. Game 1 of their first-round series with the Sabres is Thursday in Buffalo.
