On Friday, March 29 from 7 p.m. right up until NESN Daily at 10 p.m., Charlie Moore Outdoors will be holding a marathon of episodes with a Red Sox theme. That’s right, six back-to-back episodes with Mr. Mad Fish himself, featuring the likes of Tim Wakefield, Jason Varitek and Bill Lee joining in on the fun, all to get ready for Red Sox Opening Day on Monday.

Once again, that’s Friday at 7 p.m. on NESN to catch Charlie Moore hanging out with some of your favorite Red Sox players.

NESN will be airing ten episodes of Charlie Moore Outdoors over five hours on Saturday, leading up to Bruins pregame coverage. The final four hours will feature eight classic episodes.

You can never be sure what’s going to happen once The Mad Fisherman gets rolling, so make sure to tune in to see Charlie with the likes of Ray Bourque, Bobby Orr and other fan favorites.

Charlie Moore is a little wacky. Everyone knows that. But when he’s not having fun out on the water, what exactly does The Mad Fisherman do?

Well, he’s still a little wacky. But generally, he likes to spend some time relaxing with his family at the Hanover Street Chophouse in Manchester, N.H. Moore likes to kick back with an adult beverage or two while soaking in the great food and unique ambiance.

Bobby Orr has always been solid on a pond, whether the ice is frozen or not.

The Bruins legend also loves to fish, and he was raring for another go when Charlie Moore came calling recently — so much so that Orr was getting some practice in as Charlie approached in his boat-pulling Hummer.

An Orr-Moore battle on the pond is one for the ages. Watch a clip of the two together in the video above, then tune in to NESN on Sunday, Dec. 16, to catch the full episode of Charlie Moore Outdoors. It will air at 12:30 p.m. and again at 7.

It’s always fun when you’re hanging with the Mad Fisherman, and this month Charlie Moore has a few extra stocking stuffers in hand.

In December, Charlie Moore Outdoors features four new episodes, and the guests include Bruins legends Ray Bourque and Bobby Orr, retiring from the frozen ponds of the NHL for the fishing ponds of New England. And, if that’s not enough of the Mad Fisherman, you can always tune in to catch the Christmas Day marathon.

Ray Bourque was a great hockey player. Fishing? Now, that’s a different story.

Bourque was skating on thin ice when he decided to head out to the pond with Charlie Moore recently, but the duo soon found good use for Bourque’s sharp eyes. Bourque critiqued Charlie’s wrist action as he cast his line — and he even had thoughts about Charlie’s hair. The two found plenty to talk about.

“As a kid, I always watched No. 77, Ray Bourque, of the Boston Bruins,” Charlie said.

This weekend, you have a chance to watch Bourque, too, as he and Charlie take their talents to water. Bourque is making an appearance on Charlie Moore Outdoors on NESN this Sunday at 12:30 p.m., with a special encore performance at 7.

While the Mad Fisherman enjoys the luxuries of fishing for a career –
including having his own Brigham's ice cream flavor — nothing makes up for a
nice cigar and bike ride on the Harley.

Scott Brown ran into Charlie Moore on the old campaign trail.

The two Massachusetts natives met up for a meal and some fishing, and they explored the intricacies of life outside of politics and fish. Whether Brown campaigns for the votes of the fish he caught is to be determined, but his ability to interact with The Mad Fisherman on the water makes him a natural.

The (very) general consensus was that the evidence against Simpson was so overwhelming that it was an unmitigated failure that he wasn't sent to jail for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Now, it would seem, the shoe — or should we say, glove — is on the other limb.

Simpson is in jail right now in Nevada for a totally unrelated crime — he was, in fact, later found financially liable for the deaths of Brown and Goldman — related to armed robbery and kidnapping charges while trying to get personal memorabilia back from a Las Vegas dealer. The soonest Simpson could see parole is 2017.

However, according to The Associated Press, Clark County District Court judge Linda Marie Bell has agreed to hear questioning by Simpson's current lawyer that essentially argues that the former football star's defense team in the 2008 robbery trial was so incompetent that Simpson should be granted a new trial.

"[Simpson trial lawyer Yale] Galanter was motivated by his own interests, which caused him to
materially limit Simpson's legal representation," the appeal says.
"Galanter remained on the case until rehearing was denied and denied
Simpson the opportunity to raise this issue."

Moreover, the appeal claims that Galanter actually encouraged Simpson to confront the memorabilia dealers — the incident in question — and told him it was perfectly legal.

So, who knows what Simpson's legal future holds, but one thing is for sure: The court of public opinion (whether it be sympathetic or otherwise) has long since made up its mind.

While the Jersey shore is more recognized for the "characters" from the popular MTV show, Charlie Moore invaded the Garden State not to fist pump at his favorite club, but to try his hand at shark fishing.

While most are accustomed to seeing The Mad Fisherman in New England waters, Moore decided that a trip down the Atlantic would offer a new, more dangerous challenge.

The Mad Fisherman spends most of his days in the water in northern New England. Fans from the southern sections of the region felt like they’ve been cheated the opportunity to see Charlie Moore in their fishing territory.

So, he listened.

Moore ventured down to Connecticut to go trout fishing with Herb Reed, owner of Lunker City Fishing. While he admits to not quite be the same type of man when searching for trout, Moore still holds his own with Reed.

When Charlie Moore wanted to find his perfect match, he knew where to go.

The Mad Fisherman tracked down former Love Connection host Chuck Woolery to find a "Bass Connection" on Charlie Moore Outdoors. On Woolery's new fishing-themed game show, Moore was presented with two candidates to go out on the boat with.

When you are having trouble fishing, there is only one man to call: Mitt Romney.

The Republican presidential candidate is who Charlie Moore called upon when he found himself in a fishing drought on a rerun of Charlie Moore Outdoors from back when Romney was governor of Massachusetts.

Romney shared his feelings on fishing, living in the outdoors and the Utah Olympics with NESN's favorite fisherman. He even helped Moore catch a fish on their first cast together.

With every father-son relationship, getting to spend some time with dear old dad gets harder to come by as school starts up in the fall. The Mad Fisherman and his "second son" Nick, who were angling for some end-of-summer quality time, discovered that hanging out with dad is a little more competitive than watching TV in the living room.

Charlie Moore took a week away from the celebrity guests and went out on the boat (following some technical difficulties) with Nick for a friendly day of bass fishing.  It looks like Charlie may need to step up his game with all he's taught his kid.

Beyond his unique persona and, of course, incredible fishing abilities, the endearing thing about the host of Charlie Moore Outdoors is the guests The Mad Fisherman is able to wrangle onto his program. Usually, they have a New England connection.

On this edition of the program, Moore welcomes a couple of former Patriots to the show — center Pete Brock and quarterback Steve Grogan. In the episode, you'll learn a few interesting things about the duo, from their opposite personalities to
Grogan's unique knowledge of Brock's buttocks. Oh, the odd relationship between a snapper and a QB.

One oft-overlooked aspect of all the fun that's had on Charlie Moore Outdoors is the theme song, and, as it turns out, The Mad Fisherman himself is quite the blues fan.

Moore hosted the Mad Fisherman Blues Bash and invited several favorite blues artists to participate, including Dr. Humble, the man behind the wacky show's soulful theme song. It's not a bad track, and did you know you can even buy it via iTunes? Even Mrs. Mad Fisherman, Moore's wife, Angela, decided to join in the fun.

Charlie Moore is known for the many New England-related guests he brings on his show. From musicians to athletes to others of some celebrity, Moore usually has a friend with him out on the lake.

Not this week, however, as The Mad Fisherman gets a little less focused — now there's a scary thought — and starts to seemingly ad lib the show. Actually, the focus of the show becomes more about fishing itself, as Moore shares any number of useful tips that even the amateur angler could use.

In the end however, Moore gets the better of himself, admittedly starting to get a little lonely and carrying on a conversation all by himself.

Who wouldn't want Charlie Moore's job? The Mad Fisherman gets paid to fish and hang out with all sorts of cool New England celebrities, and on Saturday's edition of Charlie Moore Outdoors, the host welcomed Red Sox legend and former infielder Rico Petrocelli to the program.

It's a little known fact that Petrocelli's sons actually hung out (and fished together) with Moore — before he became the Mad Fisherman — while they grew up together in Lynnfield.

So, if you'd like to see a chat with a Red Sox alum and a childhood photo of Moore, check out the video above.

Charlie Moore only has two prerequisites for guests on Charlie Moore Outdoors. They have to be famous and they have to love the outdoors.

Rico Petrocelli, who played for the Red Sox from 1963-76, meets both of Moore's requirements, so he got the privilege of heading out on the lake with Charlie to do some fishing. Lucky for Petrocelli, Moore gave him a healthy compensation for joining him.
