The highlight of the weekend for Bruins fans was certainly big man Zdeno Chara‘s spinning backhand goal — highlights of which have since swept across the internet. It’s never too early to look back on such an impressive display, and Tuesday’s Crown Royal Maple Smooth Finish did just that.

Jonathan Huberdeau has been a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing season for the Florida Panthers thus far.

The rookie out of Saint-Jerome, Quebec, leads the team in both goals and points through 18 games, and earned a spot on highlight reels around the country with his nifty penalty-shot goal against Philadelphia’s Ilya Bryzgalov on Thursday. The third overall pick in 2011 was held off the score sheet in a 4-1 loss to the Bruins on Sunday, don’t expect the promising forward to stay quiet for long.

Rick Nash was everywhere for the Rangers on Tuesday.

Before he fooled Tuukka Rask to score one of New York’s two shootout goals, Nash had an assist that would make NBA facilitator Steve Nash proud. The former Columbus Blue Jacket weaved his way through three Bruins defenders before dishing the puck to teammate Carl Hagelin while sliding on his chest, setting Hagelin up for the game’s first goal.

The rivalry between the Bruins and Sabres has been an intense one, with the two teams meeting in the postseason seven times over the past 30 years.

Perhaps the most memorable of those playoff meetings took place in 1992, when Bruins center Adam Oates scored off a faceoff in overtime to give Boston a 3-2 win in Game 2 of the division semifinals. Oates, who now serves as head coach of the Washington Capitals, showed remarkable reflexes on the play, as the puck hardly touched the ice before it was rocketed past Buffalo goalie Tom Draper.
