Comedian Seth Meyers and President Barack Obama took the opportunity to roast Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in a public fashion this past weekend.

Feeling jilted, Trump was compelled to respond to the barbs.

In an interview with the New York Times on Sunday, Trump spoke on a variety of topics, including his recent profanity-laced speech in Las Vegas and his possible run for the White House.

When discussing the issue of same-sex marriage, Trump explained that his opposition to the notion is analogous to his distaste for long putters, which have recently come to prominence in professional golf.

“It’s like in golf,” Trump told the Times. “A lot of people — I don’t want this to sound trivial — but a lot of people are switching to these really long putters, very unattractive,” said Mr. Trump, a Republican. “It’s weird. You see these great players with these really long putters, because they can’t sink three-footers anymore. And, I hate it. I am a traditionalist. I have so many fabulous friends who happen to be gay, but I am a traditionalist.”

Tupelo-Honey Productions has announced that BYU standout Jimmer Fredette has agreed to have the company film over 100 hours of footage of him and his family as he transitions from college to the NBA, reports ABC-4.

"This is quite an exciting project for us at Tupelo-Honey Productions," said President Cary Glotzer. "It is not often you see a player with such talent, integrity and inspiration. We feel that this unprecedented look behind the scenes will create compelling programming. And the availability of this content online will allow Jimmer's fans to follow him as he prepares for the big day."

Fredette will likely star in webisodes and will be part of a daily video blog. The content may eventually be packaged into a longer piece.

"This is an amazing time for me," said Fredette. "I'm looking forward to preparing for an NBA career and this project will allow me to share the excitement I’m feeling with the fans who have been with me for my college career. Putting this on the internet means basketball fans everywhere can follow this great opportunity that I'm blessed to have."

Fredette won the 2011 Naismith and Wooden Awards after averaging 28.9 points per game. The Mountain West Conference's all-time leading scorer also collected national player of the year honors from The Associated Press, CBSSports.com and SI.com. He also took home the Adolph Rupp Award and the Oscar Robinson Trophy.

It has been more then five years since the Duke University lacrosse players were falsely accused of rape by Crystal Mangum, but the former stripper is making headlines again.

According to The Associated Press, Mangum will likely face murder charges after she reportedly stabbed her boyfriend, Reginald Daye, on April 3 with a kitchen knife. North Carolina police announced on Wednesday that Daye had died from the stabbing injuries, though it was not immediately released when or how he died.

Mangum was initially charged with "with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury," and has been jailed for the incident. However, Durham police chief Jose Lopez Jr. says her charge will likely be upgraded to murder due to the recent events of the case.

This is not Mangum's first run-in with the law since the Duke lacrosse case. Just four months ago, a North Carolina jury found her guilty of misdemeanor child abuse, damaging property and resisting a public officer stemming from a February 2010 confrontation with her live-in boyfriend.

Jail officials said they were unsure if Mangum has an attorney for her upcoming trial.

A rare scheduled day off for the Red Sox led to a busy day for Clay Buchholz on Thursday before his expected start against the Blue Jays on Friday night.

He handed out tickets to some lucky customers at a few Bank of America locations around Boston and also appeared on the Dennis and Callahan Show on Thursday morning.

When asked if he was surprised to see John Lackey skipped in the rotation due to Wednesday’s rainout, Buchholz admitted he was a bit taken aback.

“A little bit,” Buchholz said. “Lackey is that guy on our team that has been around a while — him and [Josh] Beckett both — usually that’s the guy you’ll run out there to get out of a jam. I don’t know the whole reasoning behind it.”

Buchholz also believes that there is one player in particular that could bring the Red Sox around once he finds his groove in Boston.

“When Carl Crawford starts doing what he does, and that’s what everyone knows he’s going to do when he gets going,” said Buchholz. “When he gets on base, running around, causing havoc on the bases, I think that’s going to be our one thing and it’s going to feed down to everyone else.”

For his own performance, which includes a 7.20 ERA over two starts, Buchholz thinks it is all about location, location, location.

“I think I’m just throwing a lot of pitches in the middle of the plate, and that’s where the hitters want it,” Buchholz said. “They want it middle so they can square it up and hit it hard somewhere. That’s what I’ve been doing at least.”

Buchholz will have a chance to improve upon his current ERA on Friday night when he squares off against Brett Cecil and the Blue Jays at Fenway Park. First pitch is 7:10 p.m.

The New York Jets know they are in danger of losing a large portion of their receiving corps to free agency. They also know that Randy Moss is interested in returning to their bitter rivals in New England. Accordingly, there are reports by several sources inside the league that have confirmed that the Jets themselves are after the 34-year-old receiver.

NFL senior columnist Vic Carucci reports that the Jets think there is a real possibility in signing Moss. Most importantly, if the Jets free-agent receivers Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards and Brad Smith decide to leave, Moss could fill the void. Plus, they could block the Patriots from bringing him back.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan recently spoke about how Moss puts pressure on secondaries as a legitimate vertical threat.

Hearsay doesn't have much weight at this point in the offseason — especially given the labor situation — but Holmes has said that he would only stay in New York for a long-term contract, which could make signing Moss a necessary gamble.

When Pedro Cerrano wanted to sacrifice a live chicken in Major League, his teammates wanted to respect his superstitious rituals without having to see him actually kill the chicken. The solution? Fried chicken from KFC. Members of the Benbrook, Texas, community are now wishing that two baseball players from the local high school did the same thing.

The Star-Telegram reports that two high school baseball players from Western Hills High School in Benbrook killed two baby chicks as a superstitious ritual to improve their play.

The police said that the 15- and 16-year-old players "engaged in acts that caused the death of two baby chickens. It appears that superstition relating to a slump in baseball performance could have played a part."

Both players have been kicked off the baseball team for the rest of the season and have been punished by the district, according to school officials.

An animal cruelty charge for the students would be a state jail felony which could punish them anywhere from 180 days to two years in jail and could also include a fine not exceeding $10,000, Benbrook Police Sgt. John Van Ness reported.

On March 17, a baby chick was found decapitated behind the school's baseball fields and then another one was killed the same way the following day, said Van Ness.

District spokesman Clint Bond said that there was a previous incident involving animal cruelty where five students in the Fort Worth school district were disciplined because "baby chicks and live fish were thrown during a pep rally." He said the incidents were unrelated.

Animal rights groups, such as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), have been reaching out to the school to help with animal education issues since the incident was reported.

The primary role for any goalkeeper, of course, is to defend one's goal from assailants by any means necessary. Rogerio Ceni of Sao Paulo, however, is showing that goalies can be offensive-minded as well.

On Monday, the 38-year-old Sao Paulo goalie scored his 100th career goal, according to The Telegraph.

"It was beautiful," said Ceni, when referring to the 30-yard free kick that had just enough oomph to double the Sao Paulo lead nine minutes into the second half against rival Corinthians.

Sao Paolo won, giving the club its first win in 12 games against Corinthians. Sao Paulo improved to second in the league behind the Palmeiras club.

After scoring 21 goals in 2005 for Sao Paulo, Ceni broke the record for keepers back in 2006 on his 62nd goal, passing Jose Luis Chilavert. Since then, no on has come close. The Mail Online reports that FIFA has Ceni for 98 goals, but he still counts two goals scored in unofficial friendlies in 1998 and 2000.

"When a goalkeeper goes on to the pitch, he doesn't think about scoring a goal," said Ceni.

Watch the video below to see Ceni's 100th goal.

Marathon runners are known for their excellent diet and exercise while training. One runner, however, beat all the odds with eating only McDonald’ss 30-days prior to the Los Angeles Marathon.

Joe D’Amico, 36, nicknamed the McRunner, finished 29th position, beating his personal best time by 41 seconds at two hours, 36 minutes and 13 seconds, according to Fox Sports.

His three-meal-a-day diet, consisted of hotcakes, Egg McMuffins, grilled chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, fries and large sodas.

The Illinois-based runner raised $27,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Runners not only proved that they could eat McDonald’s before the race, but they showed it was possible to run from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica without shoes.

Caity McCardell, 42, dared to run in the rain-soaked streets of Los Angeles, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica with no shoes, the Los Angeles Times reported.

She finished her first marathon in an unofficial time of six hours, 22 minutes without soggy socks or sneakers.

“Every eighth of a mile, someone would be like, ‘Oh my God, barefoot runners,’” said McCardell. “I felt like a movie star.”

At the Los Angeles Marathon on Sunday, the winner finished at 2:06:35 — an incredible accomplishment for the 26.2-mile race.

The big news, however, wasn't the winner; it was Kelly Gneiting, the 40-year-old former Sumo wrestler, and his new Guinness World Record for being the heaviest man to complete a marathon. He completed the marathon at a reported 396.2 pounds in 9:48:52, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"I'd like to see the Kenyan improve his marathon time by two hours," Gneiting said of the winner.

Through heavy rains and strong winds, he jogged for the first eight miles, then continued to walk the final 18, but he said he felt delirious around mile 10, when he lost track how far he had gone.

"I was really struggling in the last five miles," he said, "but I said to myself, 'If I have to crawl, I will.'"

Watch the video below to see a recap of the 400-pound man's race.

The illegal activities associated with sports (steroids, gambling), have been on the rise over the past 20 years, with activity increasing since the Internet was introduced. Though the steroid and gambling trends are somewhat new in the world of criminal activity, it's the same offenders running the underworld show.

The director of the World Anti-Doping Agency, David Howman, commented on the PED and gambling growth on Wednesay at the World Sports Law Report at Twickenham rugby stadium, saying that steroid trafficking and illegal gambling both fall under the same criminal umbrella.

"My information is we now know the criminal underworld controls a significant proportion of world sport," said Howman, as reported by Reuters.

According to Howman, there is more money made in trafficking performance-enhancing drugs than in dealing heroin.

"Now INTERPOL are justifying it. They now have the numbers and the information and they are really worried about it," said Howman.

Howman went on to emphasize that the criminals dealing drugs such as cocaine or heroin are the same individuals or groups involved with gambling and steroid distribution.

"They say the underworld is involved in betting, in distributing steroids and it's the same jokers, it's not anybody new," he said.

While the NFL players are planning on bringing the NFL owners to court, there is now precedent for an NBA referee to bring a reporter to court as well.

In January, during a game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets, Associated Press reporter Jon Krawczynski said on Twitter that official Bill Spooner promised a visibly and vocally upset coach Kurt Rambis that he would review a questionable call at halftime, the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal reports.

“Ref Bill Spooner told Rambis he’d ‘get it back’ after a bad call,” Krawczynski tweeted. “Then he made an even worse call on Rockets. That’s NBA officiating folks.”

The suit is seeking $75,000 in damages for Spooner, including unpublishing and retracting the statement on the grounds the published comment was a “defamatory accusation.”

“We believe all of the facts we reported from the game in question were accurate,” AP associate general counsel Dave Tomlin said in a statement.

Joe Thornton is not unfamiliar with controversy in Boston, and he decided to whip up some more during an interview on Thursday while discussing his former team.

When asked about the recent debate over Zdeno Chara's hit on Montreal's Max Pacioretty, Thornton said he believes that Boston gets away with more favorable rulings from the league, the Globe and Mail reports.

"It's just something with Boston," Thornton said. "It just seems like they have a horseshoe. We've seen the [Milan] Lucic cross-check to the head [of Dominic Moore] earlier, and there's no disciplinary thing."

Thorton went on to question the NHL's process of disciplining players for certain hits on the ice, and said Boston always seems to have an edge when it comes to avoiding further penalty from the league.

"It's just something about Boston and the disciplinary [process] is on their side," Thornton added. "I'm not sure why that is. I'm not assuming that Colin's [Campbell] kid is on the team and that's why, but it's really bizarre."

Thornton may have a point, or he may just be spouting sour grapes over his two-game suspension earlier in the season for his blindside hit on St. Louis winger David Perron – who has been sitting out indefinitely with a concussion since the incident.

The NFL owners and NFL Players Association are still at odds over negotiations as they near the end of the current collective bargaining agreement. While it's easy to focus on the owners and the players themselves, they won't be the only ones losing out if there's a lockout next season.

Think about the vendors who thrive off only one game a week to make income, or the dry cleaner who washes all of the players jerseys. It could even affect the school district and public services, msnbc.com reports.

"The way things are set up in Foxborough, Mass., revenue from the Patriots' stadium pays for big-ticket items such as school buses, school computers, highway trucks and fire engines," Foxborough's finance director Randy Scollins said. "The town's capital budget – the line item that would be hit — already has been "starved out" for several years, skimping on all but the school buses."

Other vendors who are partially dependent on games such as bars, restaurants, hotels and gas stations will take a huge hit as well. The numbers may not as large as the $9 billion in revenue the NFL and players pull each year, but these businesses depend on the business that the NFL games drive in.

"It's like a snowstorm," said Stephen Fuller, economist and director of George Mason University's Center for Regional Analysis. "The grocery store sells out, and the restaurants are closed. … There's a redistribution effect."
