“At an official level with [Chievo President Luca] Campedelli we took a few days of reflection,” Chievo sporting director Luigi Sartori told Radio Mana Mana Sport.

“But with Bradley he has important offers from top teams in our division and at the top level in foreign championships from England and Germany. My feeling? Probably we will part ways in this summer’s transfer market. We’ve already found his replacement.”

Bradley has been linked with a number of Italian clubs in recent weeks, including AS Roma, Palermo and Napoli. The 24-year-old prefers to remain in Serie A, but market forces will play a role in determining his next move.

Having played in the Netherlands, Germany, England and Italy, the US international has shown an impressive ability to adapt to new cultures and styles of play. His next destination will certainly depend on the size of the transfer offer (bidding should start around £3 million [$4.6 million]), assurances over playing time and salary.

The next few weeks will be exciting for the well-traveled Bradley. He has spent much of his life preparing to play for one of Europe’s elite clubs. If such does not happen this summer, he will surely take one giant step toward reaching that life-long goal.

Heidi Watney spent four years traveling with the Boston Red Sox as a NESN reporter, and she hasn't completely cut ties with the team or the city.

Watney returned to Boston for the Jimmy Fund Charity Auction, in which dates with 20 bachelors and bachelorettes were auctioned off to benefit the Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

To avoid any awkward first-date mistakes, Watney put together a date any Red Sox fan would love. The day will begin by taking batting practice at Fenway Park, followed by a meal at Jerry Remy's Sports Bar and Grill.

The date wraps up with front-row seats behind home plate to a Red Sox game.

Heidi Watney is no stranger to tough interviews. While reporting on the Red Sox for the last four years, she’s had to deal with hundreds of players, each with their own unique personalities and attitudes toward the media.

On Thursday, Heidi visited WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan Show as part of her farewell tour. She discussed her experience reporting on the Red Sox and whether or not she’s ever had an experience similar to when Bill Belichick lashed out at a reporter during a news conference on Wednesday.

“You are not in this business without learning the reality of rejection constantly,” Watney explained to John Dennis and Gerry Callahan. ”These guys are not necessarily media savvy. 

“You’ve got a couple of players on [the team] who you know are your go-to guys, who will always give you at least a sound bite, sometimes a good one. But you know the guys in the clubhouse who don’t like the media, want nothing to do with the media and only do the media stuff begrudgingly.”

Josh Beckett is sometimes pointed to as one of those players that can be difficult for the media to cover, but Heidi came to his defense.

“[Beckett] would actually be fairly nice about [doing interviews],” she said. “I would say, ‘Hey Josh, I need this from you at some point this week.’ Sometimes he would do it, sometimes he would say, ‘Heidi, it is nothing against you. I just don’t like the TV thing.’

“He actually can be a nice person. He’s a human.”

At season's end, it was time for a vacation to say the least.

Part of Heidi's postseason vacation took her to New Zealand where she got to try her hand at bungee jumping. While in New Zealand, Heidi visited AJ Hackett Bungy. The site of the first commercial jump in 1988, AJ Hackett Bungy is considered to be the birthplace of bungee jumping.

Heidi's jump came off of a bridge that was 150 feet above a river of turquoise water, providing an incredible scene. Luckily, Heidi has pictures to document the daredevil activity.

Heidi Watney just got back from New Zealand. But rather than just relaxing and taking in the sights, she decided to show off her inner daredevil.

Heidi courageously jumped from a ledge high above a river. The river below made her a little more comfortable about making the leap, but we're willing to bet she'd take the plunge no matter what sat below.

Watney joined fellow judges Jerry Remy, Jimmy Dunn, Chef Evan Deluty, Chef Louis DiBiccari and Miss Massachusetts Alyssa Riley at Jerry Remy's Sports Bar and Grills on Sunday night to vote on a costume contest with the winner taking home $500 in cash and the runner-up pocketing $250.

Judging by the photos below, it's obvious that everyone had a good time.

Hundreds of local children recently received a unique experience at the home of the three-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots. 

The Pats hosted the United Way Hometown Huddle event in Foxboro, giving a bunch of lucky kids the chance to learn some of the game's techniques from one of the best teams in football.

It's official. Ben Cherington is now the general manager of the Boston Red Sox.

Cherington was introduced at a news conference on Tuesday, at which point he discussed the state of the organization and the club's future plans. The new Sox GM said that pitching depth will be a priority, while also breaking the news that John Lackey will undergo Tommy John surgery.

Following the news conference, NESN's Heidi Watney caught up with Red Sox president/CEO Larry Lucchino to discuss Cherington's past, his future and the future of the Red Sox.

David Ortiz is no stranger to the pressure cooker that is Boston baseball. He's also no stranger to producing when it matters most in those high-pressure, high-profile affairs.

The Red Sox haven't yet qualified for the playoffs, but game No. 162 will essentially be playoff game No. 1, as the Sox fight for their playoff lives. Ortiz talked with Heidi Watney about what it takes to win in games this time of year, and he stressed that it's important for the team to not get too carried away with the situation.

Ryan Lavarnway made his first start behind the plate on Tuesday night in Baltimore. Yet he treated the big game as if he was a seasoned veteran.

Lavarnway blasted two home runs to help lead the Sox to an 8-7 victory and keep them deadlocked atop the AL wild-card race with the Tampa Bay Rays. The two bombs were the first of his career, and he drove in four RBIs in total.

After the game, Lavarnway spoke with NESN's Heidi Watney about his at-bats, as well as a crucial defensive play he made late in the game on what looked like a swinging bunt. He also talked about how important it is for the Sox to come out and keep fighting on Thursday night in the season finale.

Either Jason Varitek or Jarrod Saltalamacchia has started every game at catcher for the Red Sox this season. Until Tuesday.

In what is the biggest game of the season thus far for the Red Sox, manager Terry Francona turned to 24-year-old Ryan Lavarnway. And not only is it different to see someone besides Tek or Salty behind the plate, it marks Lavarnway's first major league start at catcher.

Prior to Tuesday night's big game, Lavarnway said that he's talked with Varitek and Saltalamacchia a lot since arriving in Boston in an effort to pick their brains. He also said that he studied Varitek's scouting report notes as if he were back in school in preparation for his first start behind the dish.

The Red Sox dropped the first game of their doubleheader with the Yankees on Sunday and then fell behind 3-0 early in the second game. But the Sox never stopped fighting and ended up with a 14-inning victory after Jacoby Ellsbury's three-run home run gave them a 7-4 lead.

It would have been easy for the Sox to panic after struggling out of the gate in Game 2, but they maintained their composure and ensured that they'll head into the final series of the season in Baltimore with a one-game lead in the AL wild-card race. Had the Sox lost, they would have been deadlocked with the Tampa Bay Rays, who won Sunday afternoon.

Ellsbury may have been the night's hero, with his big home run and three home runs in total during the two games Sunday. But the Sox received contributions from a number of players, and manager Terry Francona wanted to make that clear after the game.

Jacoby Ellsbury continues to show why his name has been continuously tossed around in AL MVP discussions. The Red Sox center fielder blasted three home runs on Sunday during the team's doubleheader with the Yankees, including a huge three-run shot in the 14th inning of the nightcap.

Ellsbury is now the only player in franchise history to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in a season. Although he's pleased with his production and the consistency he's achieved this season, he knows that a playoff berth will make his season that much better.

There are plenty of places in Boston to catch the Red Sox while grabbing a bite to eat a cold beverage. Very few of those spots, however, will allow you a view that Jerry Remy's Sports Bar and Grill can with its new roof deck

In Heidi Watney's latest video diary, she went up to the new roof deck at Jerry Remy's, a place that she often frequents for a bite to eat. The new roof view, however, delivers an added element for Sox fans looking to kill time before or a game or to find a new spot to watch.

NESN’s Heidi Watney was a guest Wednesday morning on Karlson and McKenzie on WZLX, and she said that while the Sox are certainly upset, they players haven’t lost all hope.

“The guys in the clubhouse actually were in decent spirits [Tuesday],” Watney said. “They were pissed off after the game, but they’ve been kind of solemn lately. Kind of quiet in the clubhouse.”

Watney said all players have been willing to stand up and face the music, so to speak, after tough losses, with Jonathan Papelbon shouldering all the blame for Tuesday’s loss.

The hosts asked Heidi about Curt Schilling‘s belief that the Sox don’t have the horses to make it to the playoffs. Shouldn’t Schilling know about how the Red Sox clubhouse can rally around such doubters?

“Yes, I suppose so,” Heidi said. “He’s been out for a while, though.”

Jacoby Ellsbury has had a monster season and on Monday night, during the second game of the Red Sox' doubleheader against the Orioles, he had another first.

Ellsbury hit his first career inside-the-park home run, which marked the team's first since Kevin Youkilis' on May 28, 2007 against the Cleveland Indians at Fenway. He now has 78 extra-base hits this season, which is second to Fred Lynn's 82 when it comes to the highest single-season total for a center fielder in team history.

After the 18-9 win on Monday, Ellsbury spoke with NESN's Heidi Watney about the importance of the team's win in the nightcap after falling to the Orioles 6-5 in their afternoon game. To hear what he had to say, check out the video above.

Johnny Damon knows a thing or two about keeping things loose in a clubhouse. After all, he was the catalyst for the 2004 Red Sox, and those “idiots” ended up making history.

Now, Damon finds himself on a Rays team that has been closing fast on the Red Sox in the past couple of weeks and are now on the verge of catching Boston. Damon spoke with Heidi Watney, and he said that the Rays aren’t feeling any pressure yet. He credits a loose clubhouse — similar to the one the Sox had in ’04 — as the main reason the Rays have been able to go out and have fun every night.
