Considering the way the Stanley Cup Final has gone, it shouldn't come as a surprise that it will be decided in a winner-take-all Game 7.

After getting shut out in Game 5 in Vancouver, the Bruins came out with energy and emotion in Game 6, posting four goals in the game's opening 10 minutes en route to a 5-2 victory.

Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo, who was critical of Tim Thomas following Vancouver's 1-0 win on Friday, was pulled in favor of backup Cory Schneider after the third Boston goal.

Brad Marchand, Milan Lucic, Andrew Ference, Michael Ryder and David Krejci were the goal scorers for the B's on a night in which injured forward Nathan Horton appeared before the Garden crowd waving a playoff rally towel.

The two teams will battle one more time on Wednesday night in Vancouver with hockey's ultimate prize on the line.

Never afraid to speak his mind, Mike Milbury caught the attention of Vancouver Canucks fans in Game 3 by referring to the Sedin twins as "Thelma and Louise."

Milbury caught up with the Bruins Face-Off Live crew before Game 6 and said that whichever team comes out of the Stanley Cup Final victorious will have earned it. He said that there's one thing he's sure of, though, and it's that you don't win a title by being a "goody two-shoes," referencing the days of the Broad Street Bullies and other physical teams of the NHL's past.

When asked about Aaron Rome's insistence that he wouldn't change the decision he made on the Nathan Horton hit, Milbury said that Rome needs to shut up.

Roberto Luongo has turned some heads since Game 5 because of his comments regarding Tim Thomas' goaltending style and his lack of praise for the Vancouver netminder. Thomas responded on Sunday by saying that he didn't know it was his job to "pump [Luongo's] tires."

NBC hockey analyst Darren Pang is one of the many that was surprised by Luongo's outspokenness following Vancouver's win. While Luongo improved his play dramatically in Game 5, it's hard to imagine he'd want to give the Bruins some extra bulletin board material heading into Game 6 — and potentially Game 7.

Pang also expressed shock at how unproductive Daniel and Henrik Sedin have been in the Cup Final, especially on the power play.

Mark Recchi and Shawn Thornton know a thing or two about playing on the big stage, and succeeding.

Recchi is the NHL’s active leader in playoff goals with 61 — a mark that also has him tied for 25th all-time. He has won two Stanley Cups in his career — with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1991 and the Carolina Hurricanes in 2006 — and continues to be a leader in the Bruins locker room throughout their Stanley Cup Final series with the Vancouver Canucks.

Thornton also has a Stanley Cup win under his belt. He hoisted the iconic trophy in 2007 with the Anaheim Ducks. While he spent some time this postseason as a healthy scratch, he continued to work hard and now has regained a spot in the Bruins’ lineup because of the energy and emotion that he brings to every shift.

The tenth annual WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon is set to take place on Aug. 30 and 31. But NESN's Kathryn Tappen and Randy Scott thought it'd be nice to drop by the Jimmy Fund Clinic to spend some time meeting some new friends.

Before the Stanley Cup Final began, it was difficult to predict how the Bruins and Canucks would respond to each other, considering they only played once during the regular season. Few would have predicted the level of hatred between the two teams would rise to its current level.

Following a 1-0 win in Game 5, Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo commented on the game's lone goal, saying it would have been an easy save for him. Luongo also said that he's been pumping Tim Thomas' tires all series, but that he hasn't heard Thomas say one nice thing about him.

Bruins head coach Claude Julien didn't want to get into the matter, but he did defend his netminder. Julien said he doesn't expect Thomas to lose any sleep over the comments.

Zdeno Chara and Shawn Thornton were two of the Bruins players who declined to comment on Luongo's comments. Thornton did say that Thomas has been their best player all season.

The Bruins face a must-win Game 6 in Boston on Monday night, and they understand they'll need to play a desperate game.

It's been a long time since the Bruins won the Stanley Cup. And while they attempt to do so this spring for the first time in almost 40 years, the B's recent run conjures memories of those Cup-winning teams of the past.

Those memories wouldn't be complete, of course, without mention of Derek Sanderson. The fan favorite dropped by Bruins Face-Off Live prior to Game 5, and he spoke with Kathryn Tappen and Barry Pederson about what this potential title run means to the Bruins and Boston.

Sanderson said that while the Bruins have done a tremendous job this season, they've got a young team built for the long run, no matter how this Final run turns out.

The Bruins looked like the better all-around team again on Wednesday night at the TD Garden. Just two nights after an 8-1 clinic, the B’s came back with another 4-0 romp.

They played nearly a flawless game against the Canucks, and played physical despite a warning from NHL senior vice president Mike Murphy.

Murphy had said that the taunting exhibited in Game 3 would not be tolerated. But that didn’t mean the Bruins were going to sit back. They still came out as the more aggressive team, taking control from opening puck drop. Even goaltender Tim Thomas showed how physical he can be.

Brad Marchand scored his eighth goal of the postseason as part of the Bruins' 4-0 win in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. After the game, he talked about feeding off the Garden crowd and the physicality of none other than goaltender Tim Thomas.

Marchand said it was pretty funny to see Thomas come out of the net and get into a brief scuffle with Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows in the third period Wednesday night. But it isn't as if Marchand hasn't seen it before.

Marchand said Thomas acted similarly toward him during training camp, which came as a surprise to the rookie.

Before suspending Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome for his hit on Nathan Horton, NHL vice president of hockey operations Mike Murphy called Toronto general manager Brian Burke to discuss the suspension process.

Burke, who was once the NHL director of operations, suspended Claude Lemieux for three games in 1995. The two discussed the suspension process, but Burke says they never discussed the Horton hit.

Burke has also had an impact on how this series has come to fruition. He was the Canucks general manager from 1998-2004, which included drafting the Sedin twins with the second and third overall selections in the 1999 NHL draft — a draft actually held at the TD Garden (then the FleetCenter). He also traded Tomas Kaberle to the Bruins this season, and traded the draft pick used to select Tyler Seguin in the 2010 NHL draft.

The last time the Bruins won the Stanley Cup, Bobby Orr was leading the charge for the Black and Gold. Hopefully the great No. 4 can bring some of that luck to the B's with his appearance at the TD Garden prior to Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night.

Orr joined NESN's Kathryn Tappen and Gorld Kluzak on Bruins Face-Off Live to discuss the Nathan Horton hit, the officiating throughout the series and the keys to a Bruins victory.

He said he expects the Bruins to provide a solid effort in Game 4, and that the B's need to stay out of the penalty box. He also said the Bruins need to continue to receive contributions from every player on the ice in order to take down the talented Canucks and that the referees need to let the two teams play.

There's been a vintage team jacket floating around the Bruins locker room all postseason. Following Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, the jacket made its way in Nathan Horton's locker, although the forward left the game in the first period due to an injury.

It was a tribute to Horton by his teammates. They elevated their game following the Horton hit, hoping to show that they weren't a team that was going to be pushed around.

In Horton's absence, NESN's Andy Brickley and Gord Kluzak expect Michael Ryder to slide into his spot on the team's top line.

Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas and Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo have been battling throughout the Stanley Cup Final to prove who is the superior netminder. In Game 3, it wasn't even a debate.

Thomas stopped 40 shots in net for the B's while Luongo struggled throughout, allowing eight goals in the rout.

Following the win, Thomas continued to stress that he wasn't listening to any of the criticism he may have received following the team's overtime loss to the Canucks in Game 2.

Heading into Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, the Bruins and Canucks were already establishing some hatred for each other. In Game 3 on Monday night, that hatred rose to a new level.

Nathan Horton was knocked out of the game in the first period on a blindside hit by Canucks defenseman Aaron Rome. Horton was taken off on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital, where it was later reported that he had feeling in all of his extremities.

Following the hit, the B's responded by scoring eight goals in an offensive clinic.

Shawn Thornton, who played for the first time since Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning, provided a great deal of energy, while Mark Recchi and Milan Lucic provided some taunts of their own.

It was a physical game, but it was all Bruins on the scoreboard. Following the win, the Bruins dedicated the victory to Horton by hanging a starter jacket usually awarded to the player of the game in his locker.

In the midst of Ray Bourque's career, the Bruins established a winning tradition. Though he never hoisted Lord Stanley in black and gold, he consistently helped lead the Bruins to a winning season. Bourque feels as though the current front office has returned that winning tradition to Boston hockey.

Bourque appeared on Bruins Face-Off Live to discuss a number of topics, including the support Boston provided him with when he won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche and the current Stanley Cup Final.

He also praised the likes of Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara for the way they've handled themselves off the ice, in addition to their stellar play.

Ray Bourque was never able to hoist the Stanley Cup as a member of the Boston Bruins, but he helped them advance to two Cup Finals as a B's defenseman and eventually won the Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2001. He knows a thing or two about playing on the big stage.

Bourque wants the Bruins to seize the moment and elevate their game throughout their series with the Vancouver Canucks because it's such a special opportunity.

In order to do so, Boston's all-time leading scorer said that the Bruins need to play a clean game and limit the transition play of the Canucks.

The longtime Bruins captain also said that you're never really playing for the Cup until you win three games in the Stanley Cup Final, which it took him a long time to do as a player.

Mark Recchi's veteran leadership and poise is invaluable, so even when he's not lighting the lamp, he's still extremely important to the Bruins' game plan. When he does score, like he did in Game 2, it's a bonus.

But although Recchi needs to still log big minutes, NESN's Gord Kluzak thinks that Bruins head coach Claude Julien should consider using Rich Peverley on a line with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand more often.

Kluzak thinks Peverley's speed and scoring ability makes him an important offensive player for the Bruins, and that he might see an increase in opportunities and production if he was to play alongside a center of Bergeron's caliber.

Kluzak also discussed whether the Bruins should consider inserting enforcer Shawn Thornton into the lineup for Game 3, and how it would impact the Bruins.

Alex Burrows of the Vancouver Canucks could soon be hearing from the league office for biting the finger of Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron. But although Bergeron admits that Burrows did bite him, he said that he doesn’t want to get into a “war of words” over the incident.

Bergeron said he doesn’t mind rough play after the whistle, as long as it’s pushing, shoving and the usual roughness that accompanies such scrums.

“Biting, I mean come on,” he said.

Bruins head coach Claude Julien said that he didn’t see the incident and will therefore hold his comments. He said if Burrows did, in fact, bite Bergeron — which the replay clearly shows — then it was “classless.”

NESN’s Barry Pederson agreed, saying that the biting incident crossed the line and that the NHL needs to suspend Burrows to avoid having such incidents creep into hockey.

The Bruins suffered a heartbreaking loss in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, allowing the game's only goal with just 18 seconds remaining.

NESN's Barry Pederson and Gord Kluzak did see some positives from the B's in Game 1, though. Despite coming into the series as overwhelming underdogs, Kluzak said Game 1 proved that the Bruins can hang with the Canucks, which should make this an interesting series.

Pederson was pleased with the Boston penalty kill, although the B's power play still struggled, going 0-for-6 in the game.

There's no doubting how important the Bruins' top line is to their success, and they'll likely have to continue playing well for the Bruins to defeat the Vancouver Canucks in the Stanley Cup Final.

NESN's Andy Brickley said that Milan Lucic will have to play especially well because when he's on, he can be one of the most dominating players on the ice.

Gord Kluzak agreed, adding that he noticed Lucic seemingly finding that extra gear at the end of the Eastern Conference Final. Brickley attributes this to his awareness improving.

Brickley said he expects the Bruins to execute their game plan throughout the series, which needs to include staying out of the penalty box.
