Dustin Pedroia‘s bat has been hot as of late and the second baseman is on an 11-game hitting streak entering Monday night’s matchup against the Chicago White Sox. Pedroia is 21-45 (.467), and his hit on Sunday was a bit of a gift from Minnesota Twins left fielder Josh Willingham.

Pedroia hit what looked like a routine double in the ninth with one out and one on, but the ball bounced off of Willingham’s glove before it rolled briefly on top of the outfield wall and landed on the other side for a two-run home run. The homer gave the Sox a nice cushion on their lead after a lengthy rain delay.

The Sox prevailed over the Twins 5-1, and for the role it played in securing the win, Pedroia’s home run is a Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Before David Ortiz was Big Papi, he was a Minnesota Twin. But, the Twins let him go, and he seems intent on reminding them of that mistake every time he faces his old squad.

Ortiz, a career .332 hitter against Minnesota pitching, added another couple twists of the metaphorical knife this weekend. Big Papi blasted two home runs on Saturday, marking the 42nd and 43rd homers against his former club. The first, a three-run shot, came off starter Scott Diamond in the opening frame, while the second was a solo blast against Anthony Swarzak in the seventh.

The Sox went on to win the game 12-5, and for the role they played in that victory, Ortiz’s home runs are a Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Evan Longoria‘s Tampa Bay Rays may have struggled for offense at times earlier this season, but they didn’t go wanting for runs last week.

That’s thanks in large part to Longoria’s hot-hitting ways, as the third baseman was named the American League’s Player of the Week for the week of games ending May 12. During that time, Longo hit .464 (13-for-28) with three home runs, five doubles and a league-leading 11 RBIs. Longoria also led the big leagues in total bases and slugging percentage.

This marks the sixth time that Longoria has earned the weekly honors, and for that, it’s our Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz has hit 405 career home runs, and it all started in 1997.

Big Papi made his big league debut for the Minnesota Twins and went yard for the first time in the major leagues on September 14, 1997, hitting a fly ball deep into right field against Julio Santana and the Texas Rangers. The rest, as they say, is history.

In 11 seasons with the Red Sox, Ortiz has hit 347 homers on 1,885 hits. This season, he has already knocked four out of the park, and you can bet there are more where those came from.

To celebrate the beginning of the power of Ortiz’s bat, his first career home run is recognized as a Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Will Middlebrooks is going to hit his fair share of home runs over the course of his major league career, but he might be hard-pressed to top the power display he put on against the Blue Jays back on April 7.

That was when the Red Sox third baseman blasted three home runs and a double against the Jays at the Roger Centre, and nearly ended up with four homers thanks to a warning-track fly in the eighth inning. His first two came against reigning NL Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey, while the third came off reliever Dave Bush.

In the end, Middlebrooks ended the day 4-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs scored, good enough to earn this Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Mike Napoli entered Tuesday night leading all of baseball in RBIs, and a big part of that is due to his recent play at Fenway Park.

The first-year Red Sox first baseman has wasted no time getting suited to his new digs, and the big numbers that he put up as a visitor to Boston have continued to shine through now that he’s in the home whites. Napoli has driven in right runs over the past three games, including five on Monday night and a grand slam to boot.

In honor of the success that it has brought the Red Sox in the last few days, Napoli’s recent hot streak is recognized as a Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Hits have been hard to come by for Adrian Gonzalez over the past few weeks. Gonzalez' average has dropped from a respectable .292 in Mid May to his current place with a season-low .257.

While Gonzalez struggles at the plate around the midseason mark in 2012, that presents a vast contrast to his position just a season ago. On June 19, 2011, Gonzalez was hitting a scorching .348 at the dish at the time and on the same day recorded a landmark with his 1,000th career hit.

The memorable moment came in a 12-3 Red Sox win against Yovanni Gallardo and the Milwaukee Brewers

For his little slice of history, Gonzalez's hit is being recognized as this week's Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Tiant spent arguably three of his best seasons in a Red Sox uniform and has been honored many times at Fenway Park for his great achievements on the baseball field.

On Monday, June 11, Tiant threw out the first pitch at a Miami Marlins game against the Sox. The honor was not only a sign of respect for Tiant’s success in the big leagues but his heritage and contributions as a Cuban. Miami, which has a very large Cuban poppulation, appreciated Tiant’s success and honored him on Monday.

For that, Tiant is recognized with the Ketel One Honorable Moment of the week.

Adrian Gonzalez was billed as the next best thing when he was selected first overall in the 2000 MLB Draft.

The then 18-year-old first baseman was the first infielder selected at No. 1 since Alex Rodriguez was taken in that spot just seven years before in 1993. Comparisons were made between the two, and Gonzalez was expected to fly through the minor leagues in similar fashion to Rodriguez.

By 2004, Gonzalez was in the big leagues with the Texas Rangers and the four-time All Star hasn’t looked back since. Gonzo has hit 199 home runs so far in his nine-year MLB career and there are plenty more likely on the horizon.

With the 2012 MLB Draft going on this week, Gonzalez’ memorable day 12 years ago was recognized as this week’s Ketel One Honorable Moment.

The Red Sox were a championship-starved franchise for 86 years. In the 2004 ALCS, boston appeared primed for yet another fruitless season after falling behind 3-0 in a series against the rival Yankees.

One quick swipe of a base changed all that. Dave Roberts, who came over in a trade at midseason, stole second base in the bottom of the ninth inning to help tie up Game 4 at Fenway Park and force extra innings that saw David Ortiz becoming a hero.

The series ended up going back to New Yok and the Red Sox were able to make history, overcoming a three-game deficit and ultimately winning the World Series.

The historic moment was recognized this week as the Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Clay Buchholz has been having a rough go of it to start the 2012 season, but the Red Sox' talented pitcher has had his fair share of success in the major leagues.

Buchholz posted a career-best 2.33 ERA in 2010 and has been considered as one of the best young pitchers in baseball for a number of years. The hype all came to fruition when Buchholz actually threw a no-hitter during one of his first ever starts in the big leagues in 2007.

Buchholz no-hit the Baltimore Orioles on Sept. 1, 2007 and led the Red Sox to a 10-0 win en route to their second World Series in four seasons. The no-hitter was the first and only one of Buchholz's young career and turned out to be the 17th career no-hitter for Red Sox pitchers.

The special moment was Tuesday night's Ketel One Honorable Moment of the week. The Red Sox may not have seen the same sort of result on Tuesday, but the moment will always hold a special place in Red Sox lure nonetheless.

Big Papi, as he is lovingly known in the Boston area, has earned the respect and admiration of many fans over his 10 seasons in town.

Last season Ortiz also earned some accolades on the field, as the powerful designated hitter smacked his 10th-career grand slam and drove in his 1,000th-career RBI on a home run hit off of Kansas City's Bruce Chen.

The moment occurred on July 27, 2011 and it was certainly one to remember for Red Sox faithful everywhere. With that fact in mined, Ortiz is this week's recipient of the Ketel One Honorable Moment award.

The Red Sox had a lot to be proud of in 1912.

Boston not only opened its brand-new home, Fenway Park, that fateful year — the Red Sox also went to the World Series, taking down the New York Giants for the league title.

The 1912 team got a tip of the cap Monday night as the Red Sox honored family members of that year's team and others connected to the championship season in the latest Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Hugh Bradley hit Fenway Park's first home run 100 years ago this Thursday — May 3, 2012 — and his granddaughter, Mary Hennessey, and her family were at the park Monday to celebrate it.

Also included were family members of Opening Day pitcher Buck O'Brien, shortstop and captain Heinie Wagner, 34-game winner Smokey Joe Wood, catcher Bill Carrigan, pitcher Ray Collins, outfielder Olaf Henriksen, second baseman Steve Yerkes and batboy Alfred McCarthy.

The Red Sox also honored families connected to Frank and Kenneth Osborn, the pioneering engineers of Fenway Park; Charles Logue, who led the construction company that built the ballpark; John Louis Newell, who brokered the sale of the Fenway property in 1911; and the Rueter family, which represented companies advertising in and around the park in 1912.

It's not easy to celebrate 100 years of history of in just an hour so, but the Red Sox and their fans did their best last Friday at Fenway Park.

The old ballpark celebrated its 100th anniversary with a tremendous bash prior to the first Red Sox-Yankees clash of the seasons. Players from several generations returned back to Boston for the ceremony to relive the past and look ahead to what many fans hope is another century of baseball at Fenway.

Fittingly, that ceremony is this week's Ketel One Honorable Moment.

Johnny Pesky, 22 years old, was second in the lineup, sandwiched between Red Sox greats. But Pesky earned his spot in his major league debut, going 2-for-4 with a triple and helping turn a double play as the Red Sox rolled to an 8-3 win over the Philadelphia Athletics. Pesky's debut game — in a season when he would bat .331 and record 205 hits — is Saturday's Ketel One Honorable Moment.

The Red Sox honored Pesky during Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays, a 13-5 win, as the team celebrates Fenway Park's 100 years of baseball. Pesky has long been part of Sox lore, with his very own pole to go along.

Of course, Pesky's career stretched beyond Fenway. He played 1,270 games in all, 1,029 of them with the Red Sox, but three years of his career — 1943 to 1945 — were spent with the military. He also played for the Tigers and Senators.

But Pesky will best be remembered for what he did in a Red Sox uniform. He batted over .300 all but one year in Boston, and he drilled 205, 208 and 207 hits in his first three seasons in the bigs.

Who knew 70 years ago that the April 14, 1942 lineup of DiMaggio, Pesky, Williams and Foxx would be four strong?

Fleet-footed in center, a terror on the bases, more than able at the plate — Ellsbury was the proof that the Red Sox were doing something right on the farm. He was part of the next great wave of talent for Boston.

But before Ellsbury could fulfill all of those expectations, he went on a few injury detours. No one needs the gory details, but let's just say there were some bruised ribs and bruised egos in the process.

It got so bad that some of Ellsbury's teammates even felt the need to publicly question the young center fielder.

Jump to fall 2011, when Ellsbury was one of the few guys still performing as the team slid into oblivion. He held the team's offense together with an MVP-caliber season, finishing second in the voting to an incomparable Justin Verlander.

What happened in between? Well, Ellsbury got healthy, and he also heated up.

And while he had many great moments last season, perhaps none were better than Aug. 2 and 3, when Ellsbury smashed walk-off hits two nights in a row to win games for the Sox at Fenway Park.

On Aug. 2, Ellsbury drilled a single with one out to give the Red Sox a 3-2 win over Cleveland.

Then, on Aug. 3, also against the Indians, Ellsbury put Boston ahead for good with another walk off — this time, a home run. Boston won 4-3.

Ellsbury said he had never hit a walk-off home run before at any level in his life, and this one was a beauty, disappearing over the center-field fence.

Before Ellsbury's feat, the last Red Sox player to drive in the winning runs on a walk off two games in a row was Butch Hobson in 1978, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
