A popular refrain from the Bruins' dressing room this spring was "Full 60 to History," meaning it would take a complete 60-minute effort by the club in order to accomplish hockey's ultimate prize.

Indeed the B's fulfilled their word, claiming the franchise's sixth Stanley Cup in June and ensuring fans' memories would last longer than just 60 minutes.

On Thursday, a book commemorating Boston's championship season went on sale. "Full 60 to History: The Inside Story of the 2011 Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins" details everything Black and Gold from the 2010-11 season, including pieces from Bruins coaches and players, insight into personnel decisions from general manager Peter Chiarelli, speeches made by head coach Claude Julien and much more.

The book is currently on sale at the Boston Bruins Pro Shop inside TD Garden, at select Fan Zone locations inside the arena concourse and online at bostonbruins.com/full60. The book will also be available at 77 AT&T Stores across New England beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Those who purchased the book online during pre-sale can expect the item to ship on Monday, Dec. 12.

Future Hall of Famer Mark Recchi, an alternate captain for the B's last season, will be at the AT&T Store inside Braintree's South Shore Plaza on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. to meet fans and have copies of the book autographed. Recchi wrote the book's afterword.

The Marlins, who will move to a brand new stadium in 2012, ranked in the bottom third of major league in attendance last season and are seeking bigger crowds for next season.

Apparently, the "Honey Badger" does care. Or at least LSU and the NCAA cares.

On Wednesday, the LSU compliance office issued cease and desist notifications regarding popular "Honey Badger" T-shirts, which reference LSU Heisman Trophy candidate Tyrann Mathieu (thanks to Deadspin for the find).

According to LSU and NCAA Bylaw 12.5.2.2, the shirts are illegal because the "Honey Badger" is a recognizable moniker for Mathieu, a student-athlete who is not permitted to receive compensation or promotion without permission of his school and the NCAA.

The 19-year-old Tiger sophomore is a standout defensive back and kick returner for LSU, recording 71 tackles, 1 1/2 sacks, five forced fumbles (two returned for touchdowns), two interceptions and two returns for scores. Mathieu was named MVP of the 2011 SEC championship game, named the AP's SEC Defensive Player of the Year and is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, which will be presented Saturday night in New York City.

Mathieu has been nicknamed the "Honey Badger" because of his fearless playing style, similar to the fearless psyche of honey badgers who, ahem, "don't give a [care]."

To see more about LSU's "Honey Badger" check out the video below.

If you’re one who appreciates performers who push the envelope and never provide a dull moment, then you’re likely pleased to see the NFL chose Madonna to perform at February’s big game.

If you’re one who tends to avoid controversial figures or who is more about the content than the presentation, you may be channel-surfing to watch the Puppy Bowl instead.

America’s reaction to Madonna at halftime of the Super Bowl is likely to be drawn along these lines. There is no denying Madonna’s place in pop and music culture history. Since she burst onto the scene in the early 1980s, she has been the most successful solo female artist of all time. Her music — and her look — has evolved through the years and has still captivated audiences young and old. In terms of longevity, few others have been able to reinvent themselves and still remain relevant.

At the same time, Madonna’s work has not always been politically correct or family friendly. From her semi-nude photos in her provocative book Sex to her controversial music videos depicting rape and anti-religious messages, the Queen of Pop has never been shy in forcing the issue and upsetting some viewers with her messages. Many have boycotted her music based on her explicit and questionable material in both music and music videos.

One thing is certain: With Madonna performing, there will be more to talk about on Monday morning than just the game.

Ndamukong Suh‘s ejection on Thursday for stomping on Packers’ lineman Evan Dietrich-Smith certainly didn’t endear himself to fans and players alike. But credit Suh for at least not taking his aggression to the obvious next level: magical powers and ripping off limbs.

In the latest of a series of videos depicting news events, the Lions’ defensive tackle is seen using magical powers to hurt Jay Cutler and ripping off the arms and legs of Dietrich-Smith in a Taiwanese animmation video produced by Next Media Animation. NMA shows Suh acting like a lion (clawing and roaring at opponents) while picking up Jake Delhomme by the facemask and slamming him to the turf multiple times. Only a lion tamer with an NFL logo can tame the Detroit bad boy.

The video depiction may be slightly exaggerated, however. We’re pretty sure that if Suh actually disassembled his opponents then he would get more than a two-game suspension.

Check out the video of wild, anime Suh below.

The Jaguars have a new head coach.

Jacksonville has fired head coach Jack Del Rio, according to a report by Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union.

Del Rio took over for Tom Coughlin in 2003 and led the team to a 9-7 finish a year later, the club’s best record since 1999. The Jags went 12-4 in 2005 and made a return to the playoffs before being eliminated by the Patriots in the Wild Card round. Two seasons later, the team again reached the postseason and pulled an upset over the Steelers in the Wild Card before again falling to New England.

Since then, Jacksonville has yet to turn in a winning season, finishing 8-8 last season. The club is 3-7 so far this season and out of contention in an otherwise mediocre AFC.

Defensive coordinator Mel Tucker will take over the head coaching duties on an interim basis.

Del Rio’s final record in the River City was 68-71.

But if we've learned anything about Danny Ainge's tenure in Boston, Rondo may not be in green as long as you think.

The C's aren't looking to unload Rondo, but would be willing to trade him if the right deal emerges, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. Boston is reportedly looking to add another scorer to help Pierce shoulder the load offensively.

The speedy point guard averaged 10.6 points and a career-high 11.2 assists per game last season, making his second consecutive All-Star appearance and being named to the league's All-Defensive team. While these numbers were impressive, they were a dip from the 2009-10 season, in which RR averaged a career-high 13.7 points per game and led the Celtics on an unexpected playoff run that was six minutes away from an NBA title.

Ainge has shown a willingness to shake up the roster, as evidenced by dealing Kendrick Perkins at the trade deadline in February. Perkins, who was a starter on Boston's 2008 championship team, helped lead the Thunder to the Western Conference Finals.

The 36-year-old free agent is receiving “serious interest” from multiple teams, according to the Boston Herald’s Mike Silverman.

“He has lots of options,” the source told Silverman.

Boston offered the designated hitter an arbitration deal last week, which has yet to be accepted or declined.

Ortiz posted a .309 batting average, 29 homers and 96 RBIs for the Red Sox in 2011, a season in which he made $12.5 million. It is expected that the salary offer from arbitration would be a few million more than last year’s total.

Bobby Valentine is known as one of the most eccentric personalities in baseball, a quirky but effective manager unafraid to think outside the box. But Bobby V.’s genius goes beyond the baseball diamond. In fact, it extends onto your lunch menu.

In 1980, Valentine opened up Bobby Valentine’s Sports Gallery Cafe, a sports bar he owned and operated in his home town of Stamford, Conn. According to Valentine, when one of his customers asked for a club sandwich while the bar’s toaster was broken, Valentine came up with the idea of wrapping the ingredients into a tortilla, akin to a burrito or enchilada wrap. The idea caught on and became known as a wrap, which is still popular today in most food establishments.

Though it is possible someone else came up with the idea of a wrap before Valentine, there is no record of such offering prior to 1980. Without any evidence against the contrary, Valentine takes credit for the discovery.

This should be some food for thought for Ben Cherington while reviewing Valentine’s resume.

Listen to Valentine describe his culinary masterpiece in the video below.

UFC fighter Chael Sonnen agreed to do an interview with Michael Landsberg for a TSN show called Off the Record, but little did either party know how literally off the record the interview would be.

Landsberg perhaps could have chosen his words more carefully when he welcomed Sonnen into the interview by introducing him as the fighter who “backed down” from Anderson Silva. Sonnen didn’t take too kindly to that phrase and a disastrous interview ensued.

“What is this, your first day on the job?” Sonnen quipped in the opening minute after Landsberg suggested Sonnen would not fight Silva. “Is this for public radio?”

As Landsberg continued to mix facts, Sonnen asked if they should redo the interview — and Landsberg agreed.

Take two didn’t go any better. After halting the taping and starting over from the beginning of the segment, Sonnen and Landsberg continued to disconnect on the Q and A.

“If this is your first day in MMA, I guess. Do you know what the Octagon is? Have you head of that before?” Sonnen questioned.

The awkward exchange continued.

“I must be missing something here,” Landsberg asked.

“You got that right,” Sonnen responded.

Check out the full interview, including Sonnen removing his microphone and walking away from the camera, in the video below.

Though the first two fights between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez have been hotly contested, oddsmakers expect Pac Man to dominate the third bout on Saturday night.

Defending WBO World Welterweight titleholder Pacquiao is a 9-to-1 favorite to defeat Marquez when the fighters meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, according to Bodog. The over-under for the fight's length is 10 1/2 rounds, or the midway point of Round 11.

This will be the third time Pacquiao and Marquez square off with one another, the first two fights ending in controversial decisions. On May 8, 2004, the pair met at the MGM Grand Garden Arena with Featherweight titles on the line. Marquez was knocked down three times in the opening round, but recovered to control the next 11 rounds. The fight was scored a draw, but only because a judge made an error on his scorecard. Had the error not been made, Pacquiao would have won via split decision.

In the rematch on March 15, 2008, Pacquiao won a split decision at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, but again the decision was not without dispute. Marquez landed more punches than Pacquiao, though Pac Man managed to take Marquez to the mat with a left hook. Immediately after the loss, Marquez promoters wanted a rematch with Pacquiao.

Saturday's bout is expected to be another thriller, as both fighters have proven to be elite in their profession.

The Penn State Board of Trustees has asked interim head coach Tom Bradley to have assistant coach Mike McQueary off the sidelines for Saturday's game against Nebraska, according to the Lehigh Valley newspaper The Morning Call.

McQueary, the former PSU graduate assistant who, according to a grand jury report witnessed Jerry Sandusky sexually molest an underage boy on university property, will continue to serve as an assistant on the Nittany Lions staff. The Board of Trustees has asked that McQueary coach from the press box rather than the sidelines for fear of his safety and of media attention, this according to an anonymous member of the board.

The board member said they do not plan to fire McQueary or ask him to leave his position.

A former quarterback for Penn State from 1994-97, McQueary worked as a graduate assistant after his playing days ended. He testified to a grand jury last December that in 2002 he walked into the Penn State locker rooms to see Sandusky forcing sexual intercourse on a boy estimated to be 10 years old. McQueary told head coach Joe Paterno about the incident the next day, and Paterno told athletic director Tim Curley and senior vice president for finance and business Gary Schultz. Neither reported the incident to the authorities.

"The fact that someone saw something wrong and did not take the time to ask the right questions, that's the part it all goes back on," said the anonymous board member. "Either [Paterno] knew about it and brushed it under the rug, or he didn't ask enough questions."

Update: Penn State trustees met Thursday night to discuss McQueary's future with the football team.

When Garrett McNamara saw the swell of waves forming off the coast of Nazare, Portugal last week, he knew he had to go for it.

McNamara, a 44-year-old professional big wave surfer, pulled off every surfers dream in successfully riding a 90-foot wave, believed to be the tallest in the world, according to USA Today.

“It’s the only place in the world in which a giant canyon reaches all the way to the beach,” McNamara said of the area off the coast of Nazare called Praia do Norte, or North Canyon. ”It’s the most challenging, dangerous wave I’ve ever surfed.”

In order to get to the break, McNamara radioed his personal spotter from a cliff to notify him of the waves.

“She told me there was a big set of waves coming,” McNamara said.

McNamara successfully rode the monster wave which experts estimated to be 90 feet tall, which would set a new world record. While measuring wave height is subjective without proper scientific equipment on hand, for now McNamara is unofficially credited with the record.

“Some say it was 85 to 90 feet. I don’t know how big it was. It was definitely a big wave,” he said.

Check out McNamara’s gnarly surfing in the video below.

In less than 24 hours, Joe Paterno has lost his job and lost his opportunity to earn the highest civilian award in the United States.

Pennsylvania Senators Bob Casey and Pat Toomey have rescinded their nomination of Paterno for the Presidential Medal of Freedom, according to the Penn State student newspaper, The Daily Collegian. The decision was made as a result of the damaging child sexual abuse case involving former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

"In light of the recent events in State College, we are rescinding our support for the nomination of Joe Paterno for the Presidential Medal of Freedom," read a news release by Casey and Toomey on Thursday. "We hope the proper authorities will move forward with their investigation without delay. Penn State is an important institution in our commonwealth. We should turn our attention to the victims of these atrocious crimes and ensure they get the help they need. Our hearts and prayers go out to them and their families."

The 84-year-old Paterno was nominated by Casey and Toomey in September when the lawmakers wrote a letter to President Barack Obama. Casey and Toomey cited the 16 Hall of Fame scholar-athletes, 47 Academic All-Americans and 18 NCAA postgraduate scholarship winners that Paterno coached as "evidence of [Paterno's] dedication to helping his players excel in both athletic and academic endeavors."

Paterno was nominated in 2010 as well, but was not selected for the award. Legendary Alabama coach Paul "Bear" Bryant is the only college football coach to be bestowed with the Presidential Medal of Freedom when he was posthumously honored in 1983.

The 84-year-old football coach is reportedly close to being ushered out by the university in the wake of a disturbing child sexual abuse scandal involving former PSU defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. Paterno had his weekly news conference cancelled by school president Graham Spanier, and many speculate the end is near for the winningest coach in FBS history.

In a show of support for their embattled coach, a number of Penn State students showed up at Paterno’s house on Tuesday night, holding signs and yelling words of encouragement from the driveway.

Newsday reporter Jim Baumbach snapped multiple pictures of the scene at Paterno’s house and posted them to his Twitter account.

James Harrison has some work to do if he wants to reclaim his reputation as the NFL's dirtiest player.

That's because Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh has run away with the distinction, gaining four times as many votes as Harrison in a Sporting News NFL midseason player poll. Of the 111 players asked, 36 mentioned Suh as the player they thought to be the dirtiest in the league, while only 9 percent cited Harrison.

Suh's short time in the league has been marred by some ugly hits, including violent takedowns of quarterbacks Jake Delhomme, Jay Cutler and Andy Dalton. Three weeks ago, he was accused by Falcons players Todd McClure and Roddy White of taunting quarterback Matt Ryan while he was injured during the game, reportedly telling Ryan to "get the cart."

Though the player poll says differently, Suh said back in August that he doesn't consider himself a dirty player, and that he won't until his mother tells him so.

Titans defensive back Cortland Finnegan, who got into some full-on fisticuffs with the Texans' Andre Johnson last season, received eight votes. Former Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather got three votes.

The Red Sox announced on Tuesday that ticket prices for 2012 regular season games at Fenway Park will remain at their 2011 level and not see an increase. This is the second time in four years the club has kept prices at the same level. In 2009, ticket prices remained frozen at their 2008 levels.

"The decision to hold ticket prices next season is just one of many ways we hope to show our gratitude to Red Sox Nation in 2012 for the unfailing support they have shown at the ballpark, and for their faith in the Red Sox," said team president and CEO Larry Lucchino. "It is also part of an effort we've made over the last few years to slow the growth of season ticket and individual game tickets to ensure the Fenway Park experience is a viable option for as many citizens of Red Sox Nation as possible."

The first chance for fans to purchase tickets for 2012 regular season games will be Dec. 10 at the annual "Christmas at Fenway" event presented by Stop & Shop. More details about this holiday event will be announced in the coming weeks.

Information regarding tickets atop the Green Monster and Budweiser Deck will be announced in 2012.

Special discount programs will also be available for active duty military and clergy.

"We are constantly impressed by our fans' love of the game and our franchise, and we hope to see them fill up Fenway Park next year as we celebrate the ballpark's special 100th anniversary season," Lucchino said.

For more information on tickets please see redsox.com/tickets.

Former major leaguers Lenny Dykstra and Jose Canseco were expected to fight on Saturday night in a pay-per-view "Celebrity Fight Night" event. But Dykstra didn't show up to trade blows with Canseco. He, instead, has traded verbal blows with the event's promoters.

Dykstra claims Damon Feldman, a celebrity boxing promoter who once pled to charges of promoting without a license and fight-fixing, and Alki David promoted a fight between Dykstra and Canseco without Dykstra's consent.

"I never agreed to anything," Dykstra said in an e-mail to the Philadelphia Daily News. "Damon Feldman and Alki David continued to use my name to sell tickets and promote their event up until the last minute. They showed up at my door unexpected, I didn't even know who they were."

Feldman painted a different picture, initially saying he and David paid Dykstra $5,000 for the fight, then later retracting the comment.

Dykstra claims Dan Herman booked the fight and made up quotes in the media suggesting Dykstra hates Canseco. The ex-Phillie said he does not know Canseco and has nothing against him.

Dykstra was also adamant that Herman was not his business manager.

"If he's my business manager, I'm a [expletive] ballerina," Dykstra said.

"That's why he's a convicted felon, because he never tells the truth," Herman said in response to Dykstra's allegations.
