Let’s get this one out of the way early. Beyond Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier are the two high-profile names that come to mind.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have a plethora of outfielders. The problem is that both Ethier and Kemp are owed a ton of money and come with question marks.
Ethier, who is owed over $50 million through 2017, struggles against left-handers. He’s hitting .192 with a .276 on-base percentage versus southpaws.
Kemp, meanwhile, has over $120 million remaining on his contract, which runs through 2019. The 29-year-old is only a few years removed from being one of the best players in baseball, but injuries have taken their toll, and the Dodgers’ ability to trade him will depend on how much of his salary they’re willing to eat.
