It was tough to find a spot on the list for this because, after all, it’s the All-Star Game. Who really cares, right? Well, that logic would be fine, except that the 11-inning tie at Milwaukee’s Miller Park paved the way for the whole “This One Counts” thing. Now, home-field advantage for the World Series is determined by whichever league wins the All-Star Game, and the infamous 2002 incident in which both teams ran out of pitchers is the biggest reason why.
