The first line may just be the first line by name only at this point (more on that in a bit), but the first line of David Krejci, Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton has been very good for the B’s this season. Krejci remains the straw that stirs the drink on this line, and when he has his top game on, there aren’t many teams that can slow this line down. Lucic, while not boasting an all-world stat line, continues to do all of the little things that make him such an effective player. He leads the team in hits, and his physical presence cannot be understated. However, his goal scoring is down from previous years. If this was an 82-game schedule, Lucic would only be on about a 15-goal pace. It’s good to see Horton bounce back after an injury-riddled season. He showed the ability to score clutch goals earlier in the season, but he’s hit an elongated dry spell as of late. He certainly needs to be more consistent for this line and this team to really take off. This line as a whole also needs to start shooting more to reach maximum efficiency.
