2013 cap hit: $1,323,000
First off, call him “Hooman” for short, it’s much easier that way. Secondly, don’t be surprised if the Patriots rely on him heavily this season. That is, of course, if he makes the roster.
Hooman, who turned 25 on the Fourth of July — pretty cool birthday — is a young, athletic receiver and a very good blocker. At 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, he’s somewhat comparable in size to Aaron Hernandez (6-foot-1, 245 pounds) and could be vital to replacing the Patriots’ former Pro Bowl tight end in 2013.
His versatility, football knowledge and positive locker room presence sound like perfect fits for the Patriots, especially now, and if he’s able to produce more than the five catches and 109 yards he did in 2012, there could well be a future and maybe even a good-sized contract in it for him in New England.
