10. Yu Darvish
The Rangers entered the offseason with an aggressive approach. In the end, however, they came up short in the Zack Greinke sweepstakes, and they lost their biggest offensive threat in Josh Hamilton. Texas also lost Michael Young, Mike Napoli, Ryan Dempster, Mike Adams and Koji Uehara. Although they made a few moves to fill those holes, there’s a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the team this season, especially with the Angels looking stacked. The Rangers will need Yu Darvish to live up to the hype this season if they’re going to compete out West. The Japanese product had a solid first season in 2012, but with a $112 million price tag, the Rangers expect an ace-like return in Year 2.
