The Red Sox were the latest team to present Rivera with a collection of memorabilia. Included were some pitching rubber from the Fenway bullpens, the first to be constructed out of foul ground, a No. 42 seat from the grandstands and a No. 42 plate from the Green Monster scoreboard signed by the current Red Sox roster. The Red Sox didn’t forget who their rivals are though, as they presented Rivera with a smiling portrait of himself on Opening Day in 2005, when he received some Bronx cheers from the Fenway faithful for his help in the 2004 ALCS. The Red Sox also made a donation to the Mariano Rivera Foundation.
