After spending a first-round pick on Chandler Jones last season and acquiring Armond Armstead from the CFL, it’s not likely the Patriots spend the No. 29 overall pick on a defensive end/defensive tackle pass-rush specialist, but if they did, Datone Jones would be the guy. He’d be a perfect strong-side defensive end in the Patriots’ 4-3, and could play either three-technique defensive tackle or five-technique defensive end. Jones’ best attribute is his ability to get into the backfield through the interior. He could take the role Jermaine Cunningham had last season and perfect it.
10. Datone Jones, DE, DT, UCLA
