The Patriots used a second-round pick on Tavon Wilson last season, and he played sparingly, but mostly well. New England will likely go into 2013 with Wilson and veteran Steve Gregory fighting for the spot next to Devin McCourty, but if this FIU product is still available, they may jump on it. Jonathan Cyprien is the best overall safety in the draft. He’s a force in the middle of the field and he’s got great one-on-one coverage ability. The Patriots need two safeties who can cover when they go two-deep, and Cyprien could make wide receivers afraid to go over the middle.
