A new sensation will soon be sweeping the nation, or at least that’s what Cary Eskridge is hoping for with the creation of the Bikini Hockey League.

Eskridge created the new league as the start of a reality series that will focus on two teams filled with beautiful women playing inline hockey against one another.

The series will go as many others before it, with the women living in a mansion as they compete in tryouts. However, Eskridge is trying to make the Bikini Hockey League an interesting and competitive entity.

For starters, Eskridge is hoping to make it more fascinating than another famous sport with scantily clad women, the Lingerie Football League.

“I don’t like to be compared to that, really,” said Eskridge in an interview with Fox Sports Southwest. “It’s a totally, completely different sport. I don’t want to say anything negative. I just think this will be more compelling and engaging. But time will tell.”

The Lingerie Football League, of course, began as a halftime event during the Super Bowl. While Eskridge doesn’t want to bad-mouth the famed football game, he hopes that the Bikini Hockey League will have a higher level of skill. Eskridge has started to achieve that goal by having several participants who posses backgrounds in hockey.

Needless to say, if the Bikini Hockey League takes off, there will be a lot of interested viewers gravitating toward it in the future. The pilot episode will start filming next month in Tulsa, Okla., Eskridge’s hometown.

With a retro look that goes back to the 70s and 80s, Liverpool is hoping that the new home kit brings in a new era of dominance from the historic club.

The new home kit is set to go on sale in June, but showing off the new threads is a good way to build up some solid hype.

Tim Tebow has fallen completely in love with his new home after being traded to New York, and his latest gesture all but solidifies how excited the signal caller is to be suiting up for the Jets this season.

The New York Post's Bart Hubbuch tweeted an interesting fact about Tebow regarding the name of his dog after the QB found out that he was departing from his former team, the Denver Broncos.

Tim Tebow said his dog Bronco has been renamed Bronx since the trade.

— Bart Hubbuch (@NYPost_Hubbuch) May 10, 2012

Tebow was traded to the Jets for a fourth- and sixth-round draft pick after the Broncos acquired Peyton Manning during the offseason. While Tebow is not the most spiteful guy in the NFL, clearly he has moved on from his Denver days in a very appropriate way, by renaming his pets.

Hopefully, for his dog's sake, Tebow doesn't get traded once again. A third name change for the pooch would be just mean.

No, it's not the Kentucky Derby, but rather New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick smiling in front of a camera.

Those two events did cross paths as Belichick was seen during the Kentucky Derby's weekend festivities, and the Pats coach seemed to be in good spirits.

Without his iconic hoodie sweatshirt, Belichick looked slick all dressed up, although whether he looked better than his star quarterback Tom Brady, who was also at the event, is up for debate.

Belichick was seen with his significant other, Linda Holliday, and the two stopped for a quick interview. Check out the video below to see Belichick smile, and to see which horse the future Hall of Fame coach picked to win the big race.

The Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks play two completely different styles of basketball. The differences between the teams continue among their fan bases.

The two clubs have quite the disparity between them when it comes to prices of tickets on the secondary market. Celtics fans have had to pay a lot more to see the Green play at TD Garden than Hawks fans have had to pay to see their team play at Philips Arena.

Tickets for Game 1 of the series in Atlanta averaged about $53, while Game 2 cost just $48, according to SeatGeek. In contrast, Game 3 in Boston cost the average fan around $112.

Games 4 and 6 at Boston are pricing out around $103 and $116, respectively. That is a stark contrast from Games 5 and 7 in Atlanta, which are going for about $62 and $56, respectively.

Overall, the average ticket prices for the four games in Atlanta come out to $54.63, which is just less than 50 percent of the average for the three games in Boston, at $110.65.

The $54.63 average is actually lower than the Hawks' average ticket price for the regular season, which is $64.68.

The wide gap between ticket prices could be explained for a number of reasons, one of which is the devotion that each fan base has toward its organization. Atlanta fans are notorious for being fickle about their sports teams, while Boston fans are among the most dedicated in the country.

Regardless of that, the Hawks were able to sell out the first two games of the seven-game series, although closer inspection of the crowd would show that a lot of those seats in Atlanta were filled with people in green.

Check out a breakdown of the prices below.

After the Capitals eliminated the Bruins in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinals, many angry Bruins fans took to Twitter and unleashed a barrage of hateful messages directed to the man who scored the winning goal, Joel Ward.

Ward is one of a few black players in the NHL, and his goal started a firestorm of disturbing tweets coming from a group of fans who thought they were safe under the “anonymity” of the internet.

Unfortunately for some of those Twitter users, their identities were discovered. With a number of the perpetrators exposed to be students at various schools across New England, administrations are struggling to determine whether they should be punished for their racist tweets.

The Gloucester Times discovered that five students from Gloucester High School were among the people who posted racist tweets after the Bruins game. Three of the students are currently student-athletes at the high school.

The school’s administration was sent a message by a Twitter user named kurtbradwill. The user, who resides in the state of Washington, sent an E-mail to Gloucester calling out the names of the users who engaged in the racist messages.

All five of the students shut down their accounts following the immense backlash they received following their messages.

While the Gloucester High School does have a policy regarding online activity at the school, there is no concrete policy regarding social media. The high school does have a different policy regarding after school activities, which states that students can participate if they are “in good standing academically and socially, attend school on the day in question, and have paid any applicable participation fee.”

Superintendent Richard Safier spoke in a prepared statement about the school’s action regarding the students involved.

“We are conducting a full investigation and will consider whether disciplinary action is warranted, and whether the schools have jurisdiction,” said Safier.

“We will implement a strong educational component that looks at the social, moral and legal aspects of such remarks.”

Franklin Pierce University is in the middle of an investigation regarding a freshman who sent out racist tweets from his account following Ward’s goal according to MSNBC.com. While the student did apologize, the school is still determining whether any punishment will be dealt.

A student in Cumberland R.I., posted a racist tweet under an account that featured both his full name, and the high school that he currently attends.

Cumberland’s superintendent Phil Thornton said that the student, who plays for the school’s hockey team, could face possible punishments as well according to the Boston Herald.

“The comments … are deeply disturbing and not part of what we teach,” Thornton said. “We have been in contact with the family and are taking all steps to address this very serious issue.”

A 17-year-old student currently attending St. John’s Prep in Danvers was fired by the sandwich shop he worked in after it was discovered by the owner that he was among those who tweeted that night, according to the Danvers Herald. The sandwich shop sent out an apology on its Facebook page.

The St. John’s student, as with the other cases, will be investigated by the school’s administration to see if any punishment is warranted. With the complicated matters that surround the situation, the investigations and their decisions will be tough ones for the schools to make going forward.

Bubba Watson went on his Twitter account and told fans that he will not be playing in the upcoming tourney. In a series of tweets, Watson told his 570,000-plus followers that he will skip the event, not due to injury, but to spend time with his family.

I ve decided to pull out of the Players.I need to spend more time with Caleb and Angie, plan to take at least a month off #familytime

— bubba watson (@bubbawatson) May 3, 2012

Watson recently hit a career peak when he took home the coveted green jacket at The Masters, winning at Augusta in a playoff over Louis Oosthuizen. Watson's triumph in April was his first Major championship victory.

The 33-year-old Watson turned pro in 2003 and his victory at Augusta was the fourth of his PGA career. Watson had played at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans last week, finishing 18th at -11. Watson has been busy in 2012, playing in 10 tournaments so far this season.

The Red Sox were honoring the acquisition of Hall of Fame slugger Jimmie Foxx by wearing jerseys from the 1936 season, the year that they received Foxx in a trade.

The A’s, despite being the team that traded Foxx to the Red Sox when they were located in Philadelphia, also got in on the throwback festivities by wearing their own 1936 jerseys.

Even though the A’s defeated the Red Sox, and spoiled the debut of Will Middlebrooks, fans were still able to enjoy this little slice of history.

The All-Star point guard had torn his ACL and was ruled out for the rest of the playoffs.

All of the sudden, the East's top team was without its star player. The once formidable Bulls' playoff hopes took a massive turn for the worse, while the playoff hopes for the other Eastern Conference teams immediately skyrocketed.

One of the teams that could benefit greatly from Rose's absence is the Boston Celtics.

Since the beginning of the season, the Celtics' hopes to raise banner 18 were slim, but the team has since managed to rise out of an early-season slump to play some exceptional basketball, especially after the All-Star break.

However, despite the inspired play of Kevin Garnett after his transition to center, the continued excellence of Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo's growing highlight reel, and the emergence of Avery Bradley, the Celtics still had few believers.

The common theory was that the Celtics would probably win their first-round matchup, then get bounced by either the Bulls or the Miami Heat.

Well, if the Celtics do end up playing Chicago in the second round, they have to like their chances without the reigning MVP being able to suit up.

Based on matchups alone, the Celtics now have an immense advantage in the point guard position. Rondo is already a lot for most teams to handle, but with Bradley coming along as a legitimate threat, the Celtics have a dangerous two-headed monster at point guard.

That's going to be a lot for the Bulls to handle. C.J Watson will take over the role as starter in Rose’s absence, and, while a capable backup, Watson and fellow bench player John Lucas could have trouble with the Rondo-Bradley combination over a seven-game series.

While Xs and Os are one part of the game, another major part of Rose's injury could be the effect it has on the Bulls' psyche. Sure, Chicago has done well when its star player has been hurt this season. The Bulls have posted an impressive 18-9 record when Rose is wearing street clothes, and Boston was one of the teams Chicago beat sans Rose.

But this time, the context of the injury is completely different. There is no chance for Rose to step back onto the court this season. The Bulls will have to go on without their MVP. For a team that couldn't get past the Miami Heat with Rose in the lineup last season, Chicago may be hard pressed to make a sustainable run this year.

From the initial reaction from the Bulls, that definitely seems like a possibility. Losing a player as talented as Rose is a debilitating one for any team to take. After a season of ups and downs for Rose and the Bulls, it's not surprising to see a sense of dejection coming from the Windy City.

Of course, there is still enough talent on the Bulls' roster for them to rally, but what must also be considered is the motivation coming from the team that could be on the other side of the court.

The Celtics know this is their last chance to try to win a title with the Pierce, Garnett and Ray Allen trio. Several times over the course of the season, the Big Three were almost sold off for a possible early rebuilding project.

However, general manager Danny Ainge stuck with his guys, and the Celtics are going to try it one more time with the group they have.

If these Celtics were to run into the Rose-less Bulls, it would be a good bet that they will do anything in their power to make sure they do not waste such a golden opportunity to get where they want to be.

The Celtics would know that the Bulls would be ripe for the picking without the former No. 1 overall draft pick. Still, for the C's to have any chance of winning No. 18, every break would have to go their way.

Well, a huge one occurred when Rose was being carried off of the court in the United Center. No one wants to see a player like Rose suffer such a tough injury. The 23-year-old is one of the premier players in the league, and it's a shame he won't have a chance to help Chicago get its seventh title.

The Celtics will feel for him, too. They know as well as anyone what an injury can do to a championship contender. Garnett's injury in 2009 sank what was a very realistic opportunity for the Celtics to repeat when they were knocked out by the Orlando Magic.

But like the Magic, the Celtics would make sure to capitalize on the opening, barring that they get through the Atlanta Hawks in the first round.

For a team that most felt shouldn’t be contending in the first place, the Celtics have a chance to prove a lot of doubters wrong, and to put the exclamation point on a successful run of basketball in Boston.

All of the ingredients are there for the Celtics to make one last run at the banner they’ve been chasing since 2008. If a trip to Chicago is in the cards, it's a safe bet that the C's will muster every bit of desperation, experience and desire to capitalize on a suddenly easier path to the NBA Finals.

Derrick Rose tore his ACL during the Bulls' 103-91 Game 1 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls point guard will miss the rest of the playoffs, according to ESPN.

With less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Rose drove into the lane but landed awkwardly on a jump stop as he passed the ball to Carlos Boozer. The 2011 NBA MVP immediately fell to the floor and was helped off the court.

Rose went for an MRI following the contest.

The All-Star point guard had played well in the playoff opener, scoring 23 points to go along with nine rebounds and nine assists.

Rose's injury is nothing new to the Bulls, as the 23-year-old has battled a bevy of injuries during the 2011-12 campaign, only playing 39 of 66 games this season.

Unfortunately for Chicago, Rose's latest injury is the most serious of all and could not have come at a worse time. Considered to be a heavy title favorite when the playoffs began, the Bulls' chances to win their seventh championship may have gone out the window with Rose’s injury.

But that may not be the end of it. With an injury as serious as an ACL tear, Rose's status for next season will be in question as well.

Getting drafted by an NFL team is a dream come true for many college football players. The draftees are often seen on TV shown with overjoyed enthusiasm when they receive the phone call verifying that the dream has become a reality.

Unfortunately for Mohamed Sanu, someone decided to toy with his dream during the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night.

The Rutgers wide receiver was called by a man claiming to represent the Cincinnati Bengals, who at the time, were on the clock for the No. 27 pick in the draft. The man told Sanu that he was going to be drafted by the Bengals, until it was discovered that Cincinnati decided to go with Wisconsin guard Kevin Zeitler.

The prospect was overjoyed when he heard the news, until reality sank in, according to Peter King.

“The Rutgers wide receiver was on the edge of his seat late in the first round, with the Bengals on the clock at No. 27, when his phone rang. The voice on the other end of the phone identified himself as being from the Bengals, and said Cincinnati was about to pick him. Sanu and those in his draft party exploded in excitement, and agent Mike McCartney even tweeted that Sanu was a Bengal. Then Cincinnati pick Zeitler.”

McCartney did in fact tweet about his client being chosen by the Bengals, but quickly sent another when he found out about the sham.

Despite the fact that someone thought it would be funny to mess with a man on what is perhaps the most important day of his life, Sanu is still maintaining a positive attitude. The 22-year-old even sent out a message on Twitter early Friday morning.

Thank God for giving me another day and another opportunity to chase  my dream … #thankfulandblessed

Sanu is expected to be taken in the second round of the NFL Draft, which takes place Friday night

With Game 7s and overtimes spread out over the eight series', it might have been the most exciting round of hockey in years.

Unfortunately, the first round was also marred by a high amount of dirty hits. Nearly every series had moments where a cheap shot was taken, or a hit was delivered brutal enough to knock a player out of a series.

The biggest newsmaker came when the Phoenix Coyotes' Raffi Torres leveled the Blackhawks' Marian Hossa during Game 3 of their series. Hossa needed to be taken off the ice on a stretcher, and Torres was eventually suspended for 25 games.

Whether it was Shea Weber, James Neal or Alexander Ovechkin, the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs saw a high amount of dirty hits, and the NHL is hoping that it doesn't carry over into Round 2.

One of those athletes who could be in for a big summer is track and field star Lolo Jones. One of the best hurdlers in the country, Jones had a tough Olympic Games in 2008, where she stumbled near the end of the 100m hurdles in Beijing.

Now, Jones is on her way to redemption as she tries to win the gold she came so close to four years ago. The star athlete has been doing a lot to prepare for her next shot of Olympic glory, whether it’s winning gold medals at the World Indoor Championships, to generous charity work.

Or the second, third, fourth or fifth.

However, the Bruins play-by-play announcer for NESN has been showing off his ability to “bust a move” on The Toucher and Rich show in a segment aply titled, “New Jack Edwards.”

The latest segment of the game was on the show early Wednesday morning, as a lucky fan had to guess three of the five songs that Edwards was reading along to.

The contestant had the opprotunity to win tickets to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals between the Boston Bruins and the Washington Capitals Wednesday night at the TD Garden, which happens to be the last game that Edwards will be calling for NESN this season.

While the contest normally has Edwards reading lyrics from songs in the style of New Jack Swing, this time around, the voice of the B’s was heard rapping some famous songs from the late 80s and early 90s.

So if you ever wanted to hear a Jack Edwards cover of Notorious B.I.G, 2 Live Crew, and miraculously, the Insane Clown Posse, then Wednesday morining was a dream come true.

Check out the lyrical stylings of the energetic broadcaster in all of his glory in the player below. And be sure to hear Edwards call Game 7 between the Bruins and the Captials when the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. on NESN.

The month of June will feature some interesting matchups for the Red Sox, as they will be traveling all over North America.

The first three days of June will have the Sox going back to Toronto, where Boston dropped two out of three earlier this season.

By the middle of the month, the Red Sox will jump into interleague play again. Their June visits will take them to the new stadium of the Miami Marlins as well as the friendly confines of Wrigley Field to take on the Chicago Cubs.

The three cities will all be hosting the Red Sox soon but otherwise are very different. Each has its own unique feel and a variety of features to ensure that visitors have a good time.

Marlon Byrd was traded to the Red Sox in exchange for Michael Bowden and cash. The trade took place on the same day that the Sox suffered one of their most horrific defeats in recent memory, and the addition of the former Cubs outfielder won't be enough to remedy Boston's slow start.

However, grabbing Byrd for the short term makes some sense. With injuries to Jacoby Ellsbury and Carl Crawford, the Red Sox have had trouble maintaining a solid set of outfielders.

That's not to say that the outfield has been a disaster for the Sox. As a matter of fact, two of the outfielders that Boston picked up during the offseason have played well for the Sox out of the gate.

Cody Ross has been a major contributor in the first couple of weeks of the 2012 season. The 2010 NLCS MVP has hit .265 with three home runs and 10 RBIs, numbers that place him among the top perfomers on the team.

Ryan Sweeney has also been solid. Sweeney is batting .390, good enough for fourth in the American League, and has delivered some clutch hits in key situations for the local nine.

Byrd will definitely serve as an offensive upgrade from the likes of Darnell McDonald and Jason Repko, who are batting .111 and .091, respectively, and with Repko's injury, the Sox were down yet another body.

The newly acquired Byrd has been a solid player during his career, batting a lifetime .278 and landing an All-Star selection in 2010.

Byrd has gotten off to a slow start this season, batting only .070 with no home runs and two RBIs. Last season, he hit .276 with nine home runs and 35 RBIs. While the Sox aren't expecting All-Star play out of him, he can be a serviceable player if he reaches his play from last year.

With Ellsbury out for several weeks, and Crawford still fighting to get back onto the field, the addition of Byrd can give the Sox another solid bat in an already potent lineup.

Unfortunately for the Sox, Byrd cannot fix Boston's major problem: its bullpen.

Once again on Saturday, the bullpen suffered a major meltdown against the Yankees. A 9-0 lead quickly became a 15-9 loss as the combination of Vicente Padilla, Matt Albers, Franklin Morales, Alfredo Aceves and Justin Thomas combined to give up 14 of the 15 runs, including two ugly seven-run innings in the seventh and eighth.

Pitching keeps crippling the Red Sox, continuing the distressing trend from last season's collapse.

That's why, what Byrd can do for the team aside, the focus for the Sox should be on fixing their problematic pitching staff. The offense has shown it can come around at times this season, and it will be there to carry this team. There are too many talented players in the lineup for the Sox to struggle offensively.

But if the Sox hope to make it back into the playoffs, something they haven't seen since 2009, then more acquisitions need to be made. Next time, hopefully, the moves will be for someone who can get outs, rather than another bat.

Chicago White Sox pitcher Philip Humber has made history, and he took it down to the last pitch.

Humber became the 21st pitcher to fire a complete game, retiring all 27 Seattle Mariners he faced as he led the White Sox to a 4-0 victory in Safeco Field.

The 29-year-old pitcher faced pinch-hitter Brendan Ryan with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, working the Mariners’ shortstop to a full count. Ryan failed to check his swing as the pitch momentarily got away from White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski, who quickly got to his feet to fire the ball to Paul Konerko for the final out.

Humber’s perfect game is truly one for the ages, as the pitcher accomplished a feat that has only been done 20 times prior to Saturday’s game. The last pitcher to throw a perfect game was Roy Halladay, who retired all 27 Florida Marlins he faced on May 29, 2010.

The White Sox aren’t strangers to perfection, either, as Mark Buehrle accomplished the rarity when he sat all 27 Tampa Bay Rays he faced on July 23, 2009.

Humber threw 97 pitches, 68 called for strikes, and recorded nine strikeouts during the historic day.

Of course, the opening of Fenway Park wasn't the only major event to occur that year. In fact, 1912 was a big year all over the world, especially in the entertainment business.

Mack Sennett took his love for the stage and created the famous Keystone Studios in 1912. The company is famous for its wild slapstick comedies that often featured crazy car chases and numerous custard pie fights.
