Contestants from Providence College flexed their intellectual muscles in the semifinals of Schooled: NESN’s College Face Off.

The Friars sent the Cadets from Norwich University packing and will move on to the final round of competition against Williams College, one step closer to taking home the grand prize. Providence is the defending champion after beating Maine in last season’s edition of Schooled.

Norwich is marching into the semifinals of Schooled: NESN’s College Face Off, but awaiting the trio of cadets are the defending champions.

Norwich will take on Providence College in what is sure to be a doozy. Providence was in championship form in its first-round victory over UNH, but Norwich turned some heads with its impressive win over Vermont. Now, the two schools will go toe to toe with a trip to the finals on the line.

Harvard versus Williams might sound more like a court case than a rivalry, but that didn’t stop the tension from ratcheting up during a recent episode of Schooled: NESN’s College Face Off.

After defeating rival Amherst in the first round of the competition, Williams had the unenviable task of meeting up with a small school from Cambridge in the semifinals. However, the three Ephs proved more than up to the task of battling against the Crimson.

The classic battle of west side versus east side wages on this week. And no, we’re not talking about rap battles, we’re talking about prestigious Massachusetts colleges squaring off in a second-round matchup of Schooled: NESN’s College Face Off.

Williams and Harvard will face off in a tough Round 2 battle. Williams knocked off Amherst in the first round, while Harvard eliminated Boston College in their first matchup. Coming from different sides of the state, this will settle the classic debate of western Mass versus eastern Mass.

Competitors from Providence College followed up a strong showing in last season’s edition of Schooled: NESN’s College Face Off with a convincing victory over UNH in this season’s matchup.

The Wildcats just didn’t have what it took to outsmart the Friars and had to walk away with a loss. Providence doesn’t have much time to celebrate, though. They will have to get ready for a second-round contest against Norwich University. If they are able to pull off another win, they will find themselves in the finals.

Just a straight shot up Interstate 95 is all that separates Providence College from the University of New Hampshire as the two teams face off in the first round of Schooled: NESN’s College Face Off.

The two schools have very different styles — one private and religious while the other is public and known for the sciences — but only one team can reign supreme in the “Rumble for Route I-95.” With four of the six competitors in their senior year, there are sure to be a lot of savvy, veteran moves in this one.

When the dust settles will it be Providence and “Veritas” at the top? Or will UNH win out with “Science, Arts, Industry?”

Vermont may be the Green Mountain State, but when UVM and Norwich meet on Schooled: NESN’s College Face Off, both teams will be seeing red.

It may not be a big state, but these two teams hailing from Vermont will have supremacy on their mind when they clash in the opening round. The Cadets and the Catamounts are separated by 47.8 miles of Route 89 and both teams will be bringing the maple syrup come game time.

One might think Vermont has the advantage based on their Division I athletics, but don’t rule out the military-style education of the Cadets. If the competition comes down to discipline, don’t count them out.

One of the oldest and most-storied rivalries in college sports writes another chapter when Amherst and Williams face off in the first round of Schooled: NESN's College Face Off.

More than just a little familiar with each other, these two schools routinely butt heads in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and their rivalry in football — known as the Biggest Little Game in America — dates back to 1884. Williams leads that series 71-50-5, but can that success carry over to Schooled?

In a battle for greater Boston supremacy, teams from Harvard and Boston College face off in the first round of Schooled: NESN's College Face Off.

The opening match of this eight-team tournament has two of New England's finest institutions going head-to-head in a good, old-fashioned throwdown. Factor in that both schools call Boston home, and some serious bragging rights are at stake here.

The Crimson may have the Charles River, but the Eagles have Chestnut Hill. Whoever can take the middle ground between land and river will have the upper hand.

With so many high-quality colleges and universities in New England, it is nearly impossible to determine which one is the best. For this reason, NESN is giving students the opportunity to represent their school in a one-of-a-kind competition against their peers.

Beginning Oct. 30, eight schools from New England — Boston College, New Hampshire, Vermont, Amherst, Williams, Norwich, Harvard and defending champion Providence — will compete, with one school taking the crown Dec. 11.
